Just found out why my dog was so anxious to get out of her crate when I got home today. She **** all over her nice blanket and pillow. Not like diarrhea, but solid, regular turds. Everywhere. I didn't notice the smell when I walked in because my nose was clogged up and my slow cooker (sweet n sour chicken) was scenting up the entire house.

Two nights in a row Ive had a nightmare to clean up before being able to go to bed. Last night it was the ex and tonight it's the dog ****.

Needless to say she's no longer allowed to sleep on my bed at night and her crate has been completely stripped down to the plastic and metal. She's not the type of dog to poop whenever and wherever, she is very well trained.

And is so, so, sooooooo far into the doghouse she won't even make eye contact with me.

I'm wide awake and should have been a sleep an hour ago.

So. Mad. Sick of going to bed angry.

/rant :(

Don't necessarily rule out an internal issue. I work with dogs everyday. She likely witnessed a lot over the last day and they take in more than we give them credit for that can upset their internal apple cart. I'd give her the benefit of doubt since this is so out of character for her.

If she is still having issues, take a 'sample' to the vet for them to 'evaluate.' Gotta rule out what is up with her before punishing her. We've all had issues similar, can just imagine not being able to get out of a crate to do what ya gotta do. My 2 cents. :)

Woof. Glad all turned out not-quite-so-bad. ;) :)
Spoke too soon. Another card, with $63.90 still remaining on it is missing. (I told you, his partner keeps buying them for him.)

Hubby says, "I want him out of here. Say the word and he's gone."

Not fair to me. He's only 17. He left for a couple of weeks the summer he turned 16. I was worried sick every day. At least if he's here, I sort of know what he's up to.

We nearly lost him at birth. After being placed in our room, I had to go fetch the nurse because I didn't like the way he was breathing. Within a minute or so, his lungs collapsed and he was blue from head to toe. A week in the neo-natal ICU, and he was fine.

He had feeding issues for years. I had to nurse him exclusively for a full year because he couldn't drink from a bottle, sip from a cup, or take anything by spoon. He wasn't able to swallow cereal (pablum) or baby food until well over 15 months. He couldn't tolerate chunkier toddler food until he was 3 1/2. Until then, he lived on baby cereal (pablum), yogurt and whole milk.

He had orthopaedic issues. Had to see a specialist until he was 12.

He has (what turned out to thankfully be a minor) heart anomaly. Spent a couple of years going back and forth to Sick Kids Hospital though.

And he had an accidental overdose of Gravol (Dramamine to you) four years ago, which landed him in pediatric ICU for 24 hours.

He's a handful. But, he's my handful. As much as I want to choke him sometimes, I remember dropping to my knees in the maternity room washroom while the doctors were frantically trying to save him, and begging God to save my son. Obviously, He did. And now I can't bail on him.

I can't overlook his b.s. antics, but I can't cut him off either.
As I've said before, he was raised properly; in an intact loving home; we attended church; he was taught morals and right from wrong. I have to believe that sooner or later he will become the young man that God intends him to be. Until then, I may just have to run interference between him and his father. And pray.

I HATE STATISTICS WHY DO I HAVE TO TAKE THIS CLASS I'M UP WHEN I DON'T WANT TO BE STILL WORKING AND IT STILL BARELY MAKES SENSE!!!

Okay, long, caps lock, run on sentence over.

lol. My DD double majored, statistics being one of them. She had fellow students in her class (she helped them) that said the same thing to her over and over. It certainly isn't everyone's thing.

I too, was going to suggest that your dog is reacting to the turmoil in the house.
Give her a hug, speak calmly, but yeah, off the bed for a night or two.

There were three statistics classes to choose from. There was one for math majors (not taking obviously) one easier one without a lab (3 credits) and one more challenging one with a lab (4 credits). Take the harder one, my advisor said. You'll do great, she said. HA! I was failing for a while. Now I have a B-. Only one other class was like that: Physics.
