The rivers are frozen here and the barges can't break through. The ice is so thick that when it cracks, it is in a sharp point and the force is shooting the large shards up land right up to the homes along the river. Now the Army Core of Engineers is reluctant to try and break through the ice for the barges on the River. Result, stranded salt. They should just use it to break up the ice, huh huh?????
