I never use "live feed" moves too fast for me. I always click on "new posts". That's how you avoid the 7 year thread bump.
Here's my way of navigating the forums. Check alerts, then check the Chit Chat section. If I'm brave, I'll venture out into the dangerous zones of the forums.

And I'll check the Photography Contest section a couple times a week.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
No, I think she was lying. And I won't be fooled by her any longer!
Okay, now I'm really confused.

I envision this live feed as the stock market ticker on the bottom of the screen.
Now, I'll have to check it out for sure.

And hey, what's wrong with bumping a 7 year old thread?

I log in, check my alerts, and click on "new posts". The Saget thread is always in the top 5. I have a few random threads I keep tabs on (mine train, drained waterways) and then if there's a new thread requesting info with less than 10 posts I will chime in. Anything over 10 posts and I'm sure someone already said what I would post so I skip it.
