I think the fact that a trash can is able to comprehend a sentence is a miracle in itself. I should get some points just for that.
Why? All trash cans I have met are very smart. In fact, I have mine do my taxes for me. (After reading this thraed, I wouldn't be surprised if he answers all the questions as "rhubarb", too.)

It sounds like you have met my cousin, Alfonso. He's very good at taxes, in fact he once took one to get around in New York City. You're in good hands with him!

I love green beans. I lightly fry them in a pan with a bit of Pam and garlic. Slurp. Lima Beans, ewe ewe ewe.
A texture thing.
Green beans are one of my most hated foods. The most hated being sweet potatoes, with bagels being a close second.

Lima beans are delicious.:hungry: But I can understand not liking texture. It's the reason I only eat instant mashed potatoes. 'Ama 'ama at Aulani is the ONLY place I have found that serves real mashed potatoes that I like, and it's because it's a puree. Real mashed potatoes have too many lumps.

OK, come on over, I'll make you either Sour Cream mashed potatoes or garlic. I add milk or cream and real butter and then with the electric beater smooth them out. It is a timing thing, you can't over mix mashed potatoes or they get too starchy and loose their flavor.

Have you ever had real bagels, from a Jewish Deli? Slurp. Not your Momma's grocery store bagels.

I'm out early tonight. I was super tired today, and don't have to be up until 7 tomorrow morning! That's what I consider sleeping in late on weekdays now. Hopefully I'm not woken up by a fire alarm again. I can still hear the screeching in my ears.

Good night my fellow Sageteers!

PS- Rhubarb. Because why not?

These bagels better be from the NY/NJ area. Our water makes bagels and pizza instantly better.

I've tried bagels several times. The texture is the part I can't stand. And yes, I've had the Jewish ones. My step grandmother is Jewish and gets them. I take a few bites, think "Oh, this isn't bad," and then I take another bite and suddenly want to gag. My mom's the same way.

Oh Dear, I am foreseeing a Chicago Pan Pizza vs NY Style Pizza challenge. Have had those.

But I've never had a NY vs Skokie bagel debate. Whenever I go to see my folks about 20 minutes away are two Deli's, one a restaurant and the other just take out. I usually hit the restaurant for my Reuben, Dill Pickle and slaw (skip the fries, cause they can't do fries) and then take home a sack of bagels and fluffy cream cheese.

Thanks, now have to go see the parents.

I wonder if you have a phobia of Chinese bagel head?

Okay, I need to know a few facts, because I love bagels and I don't understand your point of view.

-Do you spread anything on them? If so, what?
-Where do you get them? Is it a nationwide chain that I would know, or something specific to your area?
-What kind of bagels (plain, blueberry, etc.)[/quote]

Everything with cream cheese from the local deli that hand makes their bagels. Or the same bagel with pork roll, egg and cheese. Either way you can't wrong. Although the second is more likely to clog your arteries.

The texture makes me gag. I've tried it with eggs, with berries, with a spread; all of them make me gag because of the texture.
