I just went over. Replied nicely to one or two of his comments. Nothing can be worse than the one troll on the DAS thead who told me that children with autism were simply poorly behaved and needed a nun to beat them with a stick. He was banned soon after that.

I remember the GAC/DAS thread well. I followed it quite closely.
I weighed in fairly early (page 2 - 63 likes), and shared the situation of my nephew Joey.
Unfortunately, since posting that, my cousin has had to surrender full time custody of Joey back to the agency. She still considers herself his mom; and he comes home for holidays, and every few weekends. He just can't live there anymore as he has become too much of a threat to the remaining members of the family.
I really feel for families in these situations, and tried to respond with non-judgemental kindness in that thread; but there were a couple of extreme posters on both sides of the fence. You weren't one of them, but the fellow you tangled was pretty "out there".
I posted my original thought, and then pretty much stayed out of the debate.

I remember your post about Joey. I'm so sorry to hear about Joey. Those situations are sad and make me grateful that my brother is that violent. I usually stay out of the heated debates too, but that subject is one that I usually feel the need to debate.

And I need all the help I can get this morning.
I have a blinding head-ache and wicked sore throat; had only 4 hours of interrupted sleep (thanks dog); I have to drive my son to school ('cause he left his bus pass at a buddy's house); and without getting into detail - I could really use some rhubarb.
Hope to be back in bed with an Advil by 9:30, and I don't care if I sleep 'til noon.
