Where do you live?

I'm not sure if anyone is talking about where they come from anymore (!) but I live in Eastbourne in the UK as my avatar says. It is on the south-east coast of England and we are the home of the original Banoffee Pie! It got invented in a small village called Jevington at a restaurant named The Hungry Monk!

Useless fact of the day 26 July 03 :snore:

Well here in Monroe, NY they invented Velvetta Cheese...every year we have a Cheese Festival...Liederkrantz Cheese (no longer made) was invented in the same factory. (which is now a car parts place, with a historic marker outside.):D

Do you not have it in the USA? Maybe it is just a british dessert! It is a bisciut base with a THICK layer of toffee stuff followed by bits of banana and topped with fresh cream. Yum :slurp:

Was watching a cooking show not too long ago...the guy wanted to make "real" fish and chips. For dessert they made fried Mars bars. Seemed kind of :hurl: to me. He fried them in the same oil as the fish and chips. Now I've eaten quite a few different kinds of food, but how does this REALLY taste?

My mother actually found him :D Now, I have to watch him every day! He made fish soup tonite on Tylers Ultimate. Spilled boulyabaise (sp) on his white shirt in France, and went shrimping in Louisianna. It was FANTASTIC!
