When will Peter Pan get rehabbed!?

I was there at end of December, beginning of January during EMH and there was a 50 minute wait for PP. Usually EMH eliminates the lines slightly but not with PP. The ride is classic though and I try to ride it everytime I go.

I must just be lucky then because I don't think I have ever waited at PP in WDW more than 40 mins at the very most.
I was at the MK just last month 3rd week of June, the line for Peter Pan's Flight was quite a wait most of the day, 60 minutes or more, as most of the attractions in FL. Later that day just after the fireworks and up to and during the second spectromagic parade the line for PPF was down to 20 minutes and some points on other days the same time it was close to a walk on, especially close to within an hour of closing time no EMH. I don't know if this is the norm or a fluke but it was a pleasant surprise.

One thing they need to do is improve capacity and reduce wait times, not just by relying on Fastpass. Perhaps they could make the vehicles become four seater vehicles like in DLP and maybe no longer have it load by moving ramp.

I don't think the ride is really continuous enough to allow for a moving platform...I suppose it could work, but I doubt it.

I don't advise that. That is how I fell off one time.

Um...the line is never short for Peter Pan in Florida. It's always got a wait (and usually 30 minutes and up) for it. If you do want to see it...this is a ride I really recomend fastpass for.

This is just me, but I wouldn't do a FP for Peter Pan. Just get to the park for the Early Extra Magic Hours and ride all the attractions in Fantasyland then. That way you don't have to waist a FP on a 2 min attraction:wave:

The WDW Peter Pan is from 1971, and hasn't had any meaningful changes to its technology or art direction since then. It was done in the early 70's, and you can tell.

The Disneyland version of Peter Pan has received a series of technology upgrades over the last 5 or 6 years. This was on top of an already stellar attraction that was built from the ground up with new technology in 1983. The liberal use of fiber optics and new lighting effects, digital audio and lots of fully operating details like smoking chimneys and bubbling volcanoes is what one notices the most. Although I think the art direction and set design done by Tony Baxter in the 1980's is superior to begin with.

The Tokyo Disneyland Peter Pan is almost identical to WDW's. It was the one attraction in Tokyo where we kind of thought "Well, that's nothing to write home about". It was far better maintained than WDW, and everything worked perfectly. But the set design, art direction and 1970's technology hasn't aged very well in Tokyo either.

And that's probably the key thing here, the 1971 technology at WDW hasn't aged well, and to add insult to injury they aren't doing a very good at maintaining and cleaning it regularly.

Disneyland has updated the technology in Peter Pan repeatedly in several stages in the last 5 years, then they go in regularly and keep it all maintained and spotless, and it really shows. :sohappy:

Do we have to talk quite so loudly about how neglected Peter Pan's Flight is? I hear Pooh sneaking around right outside this thread, and I'm pretty sure he can smell blood... :lookaroun

Have you seen the line for Peter Pan lately? I definitely don't think it NEEDS a rehab to make it popular again. Maybe just because it would be nice.

It needs a rehab so that it doesn't fall apart.

The comment you made reflects the attitude that has neglected the MK for years. For some insane reason, park management cannot understand why an attraction needs to be refurbished and upgraded. At least they've finally started refurbishing everything. (Although in some cases, such as IaSW, things are still ignored. How long has the Italian boy been missing from his gondola?)

Reason: So that it doesn't fall apart!

Even with many day trips I've YET to ride Peter Pan again. I haven't been on the ride since I was a kid! I love that ride (I haven't rode since because it's always a LONG wait and I feel silly getting a Fast Pass for it, lol!). I would imagine as popular as it is, it's still a tad dated and deserves a much needed refurb.

Every time we go it is, and I did fastpass it even though there are no kids in my family. We never go on season either. We always go off season.........when did the lines go down?

I was able to ride it a few weeks ago and it looks good though when the ship stops being suspended and makes contact with the floor track at the end is quite jarring.
