When will Peter Pan get rehabbed!?

3 small things I would like to see done that would prove that the Imagineers still have love for this attraction, yet not compromise it's original design.

-An enhanced "Pan Shadow Takeoff" that occurs as you round the first bend...(Hard to enhance a shadow, but make it more definitive and make it so that every ship is able to see it..I have rode several times where I fell in the gap of no shadow).
-Removal of tin foil in Volcano! Add some neat effects in there, make it steam, spew, bubble over, etc.
-Digital projection of Pan and the kids on the moon instead of a rotating moon with pasted silhouettes on it. (by adding this, you could make the flight look more realistic).

Other than that...I am completely content with the ride. A classic Dark Ride that really has that "Disney Feel".

The ride hasn't changed much since I first rode it 35 years ago as a kid and I didn't expect to see any changes to it last month when I rode it again. I remember as a kid being in awe of the ride, never seeing anything like it before. I don't know if it's because the rides entertainment level was above the expectations of kids like me in the early 1970s or the story it tells was familiar, I have always liked the ride. It does look dated to my experienced eyes. I withhold any thought of endorsing an extensive rehab just for the sake of all of us who've rode the ride more than once. My kids who got to ride it for the first time last month were just as in awe of the ride as I was my first time. They didn't care about the older technology or even the tinfoil on the volcano. They were thrilled to see larger than life, 3D images of the characters they knew from the animated film, they especially loved finding tinkerbell. We had to ride it a 2nd time because my youngest missed tink the first time around. Analyzing it, tinkerbell was just a hunk of molded plastic (I think or wood?) that rotated on a wire, round and round, but they loved it. An enhancement is one thing a total rehab is quite another. I'm not looking for the newest and fastest thing on the block. I am happy at least that I can still revisit my youth everytime I go back, it is something to go back in time when riding these rides and stirring up the feelings you had when you were younger, I'm not able to do this anymore with Mr Toads wild ride or 20K leagues and so many other attractions I've loved over the years that have been eliminated, made over or simply ruined.

I have to agree with the need for rehab. I understand that you guys want Fantasyland attractions to stay classic, but that only works up to a certain point. I wish I had been able to get on Peter Pan at DL, but the line was long from the minute the park opened.

I'm not sure what you can do to Peter Pan without ruining the original charm of the ride. I am all for rehabs and changes, but I really am just not sure this is one to really do any technology-heavy effects to.

The last time I rode it, I was wondering to myself if kids still enjoy this ride, or if it's just geared towards nostalgic adults dragging their nonchalant children on it. It's good to hear that it can still instill simple storybook awe in the age of 4-D and CGI.

The ride is definitely in need of a refurb. I would love to see a new track that can support double rowed ships and improved special effects. Perhaps finally traveling through the star to get to neverland?

nothing needs to be added or taken away from the ride itself, but it seriously needs some work! it is such an amazing and magical ride but it just doesn't look up to par right now. we were there in june and wendy's pony tail had fallen off!!! i was sooo disapointed in the way that it was being maintained because it's such a timeless and priceless ride. please let it get fixed up soon!!

I haven't heard anything about a rehab but since everyone else seems to be putting in their 2 cents I'm going to as well.

I'm actually happy with the charm of the old ride and don't mind the tin foil volcano and such. It's one of my favorite rides. However if they were to do a refurb I would be happy to see it given a makeover with new effects and paint. I think it could still retain its charm with a refurb.

I did notice a couple of people saying they thought the DL version was better. I am curious as to when they last saw it and what they think is better. When I was at DL in Feb I only got to ride PP once because it was broken down half the time I was there. I thought the loading was much slower. The actual ride did not seem to be in any better shape than WDW. I also felt that the ride was shorter then WDW which confused me because I had read that it was longer. Maybe it just seemed that way because the line took so long to get through.

Oh well doesn't really matter because have only been to DL once and not sure if I will be back any time soon.

I don't see any real differences. There are any number of attractions that are a bit better at DL, but I really don't think Pan is one of them.

Um...the line is never short for Peter Pan in Florida. It's always got a wait (and usually 30 minutes and up) for it. If you do want to see it...this is a ride I really recomend fastpass for.

I could not agree more. Peter Pan is as much of a fastpass necessary attraction as Soarin or Splash, or ToT. Its que is very deceiving.

that que is extremely decieving...twist and turn and walk towards the restrooms and turn and walk back and turn and turn and turn and walk straight 2 feet and turn...etc LOL

I think the ride needs a rehab...

I would take the loud speaker out of the corner and hide it a little more...I agree with animating the the Peter Pan shadow to make it more realistic. It would be cool to have some sort of dry ice effect they could make it seem like you actually go over the clouds when you fly over the city (which is my favorite part of the ride). Then I would animate the scenes were Hook is talking to give his face the expressions he makes in the movie. Maybe make the rivers and oceans look realistic like if they are running and finally the moon scene needs to be animated as well to get he good effect which they were not able to create back in the 70's. Maybe add a cool tinker bell effect where she comes in and flies around your ship or something beliveable.

Just little details...I would add or change just to enhance the experience. It still is one of my favorites as well as my daughters because it is the only ride with tink in it.

:ROFLOL: 30 mins!!! That would have been a dream to only wait that long when I was in DL. I would have ridden it twice! AND there is no fast pass for PP in DL. I waited 45mins and left because the ride broke down one time. 20 mins and it broke down another time. Finally by luck I saw the line was shorter and decided to give it one more go and after about a 50min wait I finally got to ride. I will probably never ride the DL version again because of the wait.

I have to agree DL's version is amazing!!! It really feels like you are flying with all the twinkle lights! I wish WDW would get that same touch for it really makes the ride!

Well, my daughter wasn't impressed with most of the ride - but she's still trying to figure out how the heck they make the cars fly :)

I said that was a minimum...and that's only in months like Sept. (Even then, it's usually higher than that.) Usually it's anywhere from 45 minutes to and hour and upwards.

I must just be lucky then because I don't think I have ever waited at PP in WDW more than 40 mins at the very most.

One idea I thought would be really cool would be to equip each of the ride vehicles with fiber optics, so when you start flying on the ride, the vehicles would sparkle as if they were covered with pixi dust making them fly. Not likely that Disney would do it, but it would be really cool.

Wow, when was the last time you were down there? I don't think I have seen the wait under 45 min. When I went on it in DL the line was long. I don't remeber the exact wait was, but it was President's day weekend and everything was packed that day.

While I will agree that PP is not one of the rides that is drasticly different at DL. It is longer. (At least from my memory). You go through that whole room filed with stars on you way to Neverland which I don't think you pass through at WDW. I could be wrong though.
