When will Epcot renovate their entrance?

That's not selfish. That's the strongest emotional attachment anybody has to Disney.
I too want to take my kids and see and do the things in Disney that my father did with me. (That's three things left in EPCOT then, those that haven't been replaced by 'hip and edgy' stuff - the garish nineties look of which by now looks more outdated than the timeless orginal EPCOT Center parts)

I think that way about Magic Kingdom. There's a certain innocence about it. By today's standards certain rides like jungle cruise can be seen as cheesy but that's the appeal of it. MK is the park that I think should take you to your childhood and something to share with your kids. EPCOT is about innovation and bringing the world together, so I don't mind the regular changes to mirror that concept.

Kind of like the Mission Space entrance, especially since the re-do. I hadn't realized how faded it had become until it was all shiny again.

The days of FW being a cohesive, themed place are gone. At least MS looks good.

Ha, I'm guessing you haven't see the TTC? Disney hit that with the ugly stick

When my DS, guest relations is dispatched to TTC when something is amidst he finds the TTC depressing and adds to the guests aggregation over the given operation issue.

You'd think the TTC would be a warm and welcoming area rather than the hole it is. Thank goodness they are moving the park transfer buses out of there and to the MK side of the pond.

I agree about getting rid of the awful tombstones! I realize people paid money for their faces or whatever to be on them but it just look so strange. Like something out of that Space Odyssey movie, which was bad too![/quote
Noooo. I like them there they add to the retro theme plus I did pay money for it.

I call these the Epcot Tank Traps. I have visions of Nazi Panzers rolling in from the parking lot getting stuck on them.

"This place is so retro, it might actually be cool if it were on purpose."

Generally speaking....the pastel yellow-on-gray has got to go. The architecture itself is pretty bland, but wouldn't be so bad if they would do something with the color.

This was originally painted in a pale light blue back in the day, if i am remembering correctly.
Why on Earth it was decided to *brighten* the entrance in this way i will never fully understand.

EPCOT was originally painted in cooling colors...blues, purples, greys, etc.

I like the entrance areas ticket booths. Lots of retro memories here even before entering the turnstiles are to be had here for me. Would like to see the yellows removed though...and see the blue reintroduced.

Brillant.

Perfectly sums up what many feel about these much despised * Leave A Legacy* monoliths.

:D

Pfft...*Leave A Legacy*...

What *Legacy*...??

The *Legacy* that was *left* is just these stone monuments that represent nothing more then a enshrined example of corporate greed. A clever ploy to appeal to Guest*s egos and entice them to open their wallets.
They represent, in some eyes, the wrong attitudes Disney has had towards EPCOT, and some of the other Parks in general.

The REAL *Legacy* was already present at EPCOT BEFORE these monoliths were even a slight glimmer in the eye of some marketing accountant. These monoliths were one of several additions made at that time that seriously took away some aspects of the true legacy EPCOT already had.
So instead of *leaving a legacy*...they TOOK AWAY from a already present one.

No offense to those who have loved ones pictured who are no longer around and regard this as a nice tribute, but whoever in marketing decided these needed to be on display directly within EPCOTs forecourt should have been tarred and feathered on the spot.
And fired on the spot to boot.

And these monoliths....

Move em* on out....along with that damn Hat over at the Studios already...

It's sad, but people think as "timeless" as dated... EPCOT Center's old aesthetic is awesome...
