When will Epcot renovate their entrance?

I like the 1970's/1980's/Syd Mead style of original EPCOT, it gave the place it's own identity. I just wish they would've stuck with that look instead slapping up whatever they thought looked cool or "futuristic" at the moment they did something new, like those tombstones and the Mission Space building don't relate visually to everything else around it
Oh, at last somebody else notices that the M:S building is a complete misfit!

People always rave about how pretty it is. (Well, it is, sorta kinda. Nice swooshing lines, creating a somewhat dynamic-ish effect). But M:S feels like that massive new cinema in the old town. An intruder, muscling its way in. M:S doesn't respect its surroundings. Doesn't add to it, doesn't communicate with it.

FW East is all about geometric shapes. M:S's curving lines have no business there. The effect is that the whole is less than the sum of its parts. Rather than more, as one ought to strive towards.

My only guess with the M:S building is that they were trying to make it resemble the Living Seas building... maybe? It's "almost" the same look as the Living Seas, but not quite, and then they stuck Nemo and friends all over that beautiful mural they had at the entrance of LS so perhaps I'm giving them too much credit

I suspect they made the decision with care for any "overall theme". It's a beautiful building...just one that doesn't fit.

Every other decision they've made about EPCOT indicates they have forgotten the "overarching theme", including Horizons and Imagination, which were lynchpins for the "story" the EPCOT told.

I wish they would move/extend their bag check area. It can be a real cluster with monorail people arriving, bus people arriving, car people arriving, and don't forget the Brazilian tour groups arriving all with 5 minutes of each other. I think they should at least put a bag check in down near the bus area to cut down on it now.
I also wish they would have a seperate bag check area when entering from the International Gateway, at least when it first opens each morning. I never bring any bag packs and etc into the parks, however when I enter at the International Gateway entrance I have no choice to stand behind people getting their bags checked since they don't have a seperate section for that to happen.

I agree the M:S building looks nice, but the fact that it doesn't fit the surrounding is what makes me question just how much thought and care went into designing it, and It's really clear to me they given up on any kind of story telling, or even a cohesive concept for the place... I mean Mission Space is a ride, based on film, based on another ride that used to be in Tomorrowland

But they can't even make things "look" like they make sense, like those weird triangular mesh, screen things, between the two Communicore/Innoventions buildings, nobody in the planning phase noticed "those are kinda ugly"?

I'm sure they looked great in the digitally generated walkthrough...or if they didn't use that, the architectural model.

ahhh, so maybe that's it? if you see them from above, like in model form, they look good... I think you may have cracked the case

I think it is in line with everything else they did to EPCOT Center...breaking of theme, etc...

Viewing it from above, instead of within...

It's like watching Back To The Future Part 2. When it first came out it was awesome but twenty plus years later its still cool to watch but the wow factor is gone. I still like the rides and walking around the place but it feels dated.

I think you can walk around the table. In April the kids didn't go through with me & my sister.
