Not as ashamed as I am of myself...haha trust me on that one.

These are the two that are sparking my memory..

Namely because I thought remember both a "los" and "Blanco" in the title.
It did resemble a white wine in color so maybe the Blanco being the one closest to the price
point of 18 bucks may be the winner winner tequila dinner.

Los Amantes Reposado $13

Del Maguey Tobala Blanco $19
Now that's a coincidence. I came out of La Cava one night and was Los,completely Los. Didn't know where I was.And in the morning my mind was a complete Blanco..:( Tho when I looked out my resort window, there was a tequila sunrise over the Sassagoula river.

Blanco is a clear Tequila that is not aged and bottled after fementation of stored in stainless tanks to preserve the flavors of the agave (also known as silver)
Joven would be light tan in color and a blend of Blanco & Reposado (also known as gold)
Reposado would be a light tan in color and aged a minimum of 2 months but less than 1 year
Anejo would be slightly darker tan and aged a minimum of 1 year but less than 3 years
Extra Anejo is aged more than 3 years

I honestly prefer Blancos over the aged Tequilas. Aging seems to be a way to hide poor flavor of lower quality tequilas with the smokey flavors developed in aging in the charred oak barrels.

We need time for things to happen.

Then it was definitely not the reposado.

It was the blanco (silver) which I have to agree whole heatedly with you on.
The smoothness of a nice silver just can't be beat.

Although I'm sure not always the case with the better tequilas - reposado and anejo usually impart that flavor that unfortunately reminds me of that harsh old Jose Cuervo bite I remember from my youth. ;)

It would be a dream to eat at Victoria & Albert's. I just can't spend the money.
it was worth it! Once in a lifetime thing though, unless we suddenly become independently wealthy ;) I think our bill for the 2 of us was around $450 (including tip). We got all the "extras"- waygu, truffles, wine pairings, etc. All said and done, I'm a beer and pub food kinda gal anyway!
