When do schools let out for Christmas?

My family is planning our trip for the week of Dec 10 or Dec 17. I have checked some school calendars and every one I have checked so far lets out on Dec 21.

Would some of you please post what state you are in and the last day of school before Christmas where you live?

Dec 19th

FL, but private school. It also depends upon exam schedule. The public schools usually get out within a day or two, so could be earlier or later, depending upon when they started classes in August.

Wow, I guess winter break is pretty universal. Here in TX most if not all schools have their break start sometime in the week of Dec. 17-21. Ours starts the Dec. 19, but I know the larger district in our area starts Dec. 21.

Thanks for all the info so far. We would like to go the week of the 17th but I was afraid that the crowds might be high that close to Christmas. Sound like it might start getting a little crowded on Thrusday or Friday.
