I just got back from our 5 th. trip to WDW in 6 years. It got me to thinking, at what point do you go from a newbie to veteran?
We don't even need maps for the parks anymore to find any bathroom or attraction or food... is it a knowledge thing or how many visits? maybe both.

what do you guys -n- gals think?

When you can go from attraction to attraction without having to pull out a park map. Based on your post, I would absolutely call you a Disney vet. Welcome to the club! Do we have a secret handshake or initiation ritual?

When, under normal conditions, you never have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for any attraction and
don't need a map and
understand free dining and bounceback and
have attended at least one special event such as MNSSHP and
have a favorite restaurant (S) or snack and
and are familiar with most of the Disney cartoon movies and
can use lingo such as CM or the above-mentioned MNSSHP

You're a Disney fanatic when any or all of this stuff comes up in your life when you aren't at Disney!

When you are constantly on this site, when you don't need to ask too many planning questions, when you know how to get around most of Orlando, when you know the little nooks and cranies of the parks, when you go to Disney not for the attractions, but for the feeling. :)

When you remember the ride from Rt 192 to the MK seemed to take forever because there was nothing along the way. And you have been coming back ever since.

^That and when you know the parks like your hometown.

when you no longer have to think of your next move, you just know what to do when your there.
dont need a map except for a free keepsake.
you have a favorite food while your there.
You know the songs to the rides. (might make you more of a fanatic then a vet)

You don't need a map or a touring schedule, you just know from experience when to go to which rides for the shorter wait times.

When any of your family or friends have a Disney question, they come to you.

If you are talking exclusively about WDW I would say it is walking around the parks without needing a map to find characters, attractions, food locations and etc.

I would say these would qualify-

Visits often ( yearly, or more..or daily!)

Knows the 'flow' and can get in/out of any part of Property without much trouble/delay.

Never needs a map for the day to find their way around

Knows the soundtrack/script/speils on any given WDW Attraction/Film/Parade/etc

Have a good idea where to go to get any requested food items/snack/meal ( same goes for any requested Merch item..)

Speaks the 'language' of the locals, so much so they are sometimes mistaken for being a employee of the WDC.

Does the famous 'Disney Point' at all times ( even at home!)

Can successfully book a trip on WDW's official website without getting all the unnessesary 'extras' added on

Daily uses their Resort Hotel Mug

Can recite a overview of any attraction/shows history

Can recite any attraction/show

Knows every character by correct name, and what film/show they are originally from

Understands FULLY the meaning of these two words - 'DOLE WHIP' mmm...

Feels like they work 'un- officially' for The Mouse with all the shameless promotion they do with their enthusiasim for the place..

...and people you know remind you of this on a daily basis...

Thinks of WDW 24/7, or at least at very odd times.

Cannot get enough - Enough is never enough..

Must book NOW!!!

( drools)

Oh wait...i already did two months ago. January here i come!

( hopeless addict...)

:D
