Wow...you guys have your grades already? My school won't release those for another week or so at least...we're really slow!
Mine started releasing on Sunday but they all have to be in by Friday...so for now I only have one grade.

That was one thing I hated after taking finals, the anxiety over what the grades were. I would think I kicked a$$ in a class but when the grade came in I got lke a C- (which was equivilent to not passing according to my school's grading system) Thats one reason I'm glad I'm done with school!

Well, I've been out of school for a year and a half, but I remember my final semester I made a C in Voice. It was a once a week class, and EVERY absence after 1 dropped the final grade by a letter. I missed twice, so that was that. That was the first C I got in college, but getting my diploma kinda got me over it fast enough.

I hate the GPA system - it's not fair. An "A+" is useless but then get an A- and you'll get dinged for it.

Professors in my major rarely give out anything above an B+ (the artistic world sucks!) so keeping the 3.0 or above is hell.

I pad with easy online classes and anything i can take Pass/Fail without factoring into my GPA i do.

That's why my school doesn't do plusses and minuses.

I did not have a good finals week. I thought it would be fine because I only had 2. I knew one would be difficult, but I thought I knew the stuff for the second. Long story short, They both ended up bringing down my pre-final average for their classes. Luckily, I've forgotten all about that already!

I've yet to see anyone interview for a job and a prospective employer ask to see or ask what your grades were in college.

It really doesn't matter unless you're in high school.

You're right, college grades don't matter in the real world. They can matter when it comes down to choosing a major or (if you're inclined) getting into grad school, but the cutoff GPA's for things like that are usually pretty low.

That's true. Fortunately, because I go to this particular school (FIU), I know I will get hired because most of our college of ed grads get hired...we're just that good :lookaroun. It's a tough school but in the end will be worth it because we get a lot of field and work experience out of it. I'm also glad I'm a substitute teacher because that is even better work experience.

Congrats...you still have an awesome cumulative GPA...mine is at a 3.2 and it'll take forever to get it back up. But no big deal  I did get my first grade below an A though in a class for my major...but at least it was a B so I can live with that
