Just mentioned in "What did you do?" that I'm starting a beer forum. Beer and running is like PB & J, so what did you drink?

Yesterday: 2 Ruination IPAs. No one I know can tolerate the hops in that or Arrogant B-----d, so I don't have to share my stash :D.

Thank God I read the post, because I was about to answer hemlock tea (I'm a fan of Socrates)....

But since I did, I'd have to Stolichnaya vodka.....:)

:ROFLOL:

Yeah, my fall-back is Beefeater gin, straight. Even though there are no carbs, it sure does do the trick :D

Unfortunately you would have to share with me. I can take a strong IPA

My beer tastes vary from day to day. Somtimes they even drift to the beers I make myself.

Wine tends to fall in the Red camp. Specificaly red Bordeaux

Hard liquor -

Gin, either straight (a real martini, none of this apple, pomagranite, chocolate garbage) or in a Gin and Tonic. I have a weakness for Hendricks Gin

Scotch - neat. Laphroaig if I am feeling flush with cash. Glenn Ness if I am being cheap

I also have some overproof, aged rum from the Cayman Islands that is also not bad - again, straight up.

Really, you would think from the above I spend most of my time half in the bag. That's not the case :)

I am easy... Merlot wine, slightly and I mean slightly chilled. Captain Morgans and coke or beer.

Always the same, always satisfied.

Liquor - Rum, rum, rum---- Dark or spiced preferably - with diet coke usually, but it depends on how good the rum is! Capt. Morgan's private stock is good though :)

Beer - Almost any European will work - faves would be Hoegaarden, Leffe, Stella

Wine - White and Light.... Reislings usually

Oh, Stella... Beer shouldn't be served in stemware.

I'll have a Sam Adams. 30+ varieties and I haven't found one I don't like. Personal favorites are Noble Pils and Cherry Wheat.

Otherwise it's Stoli screwdrivers.

I love BEER! Love trying new ones. A few standout favorites are, Stella, Blue Moon, Kona Longboard, Sam's Octoberfest, Guiness, the list could go on and on.
The ones I seem to always grab around the world are, Morocco's Casa (I think that's what it's called), Sam Adam's, Beck's, Moosehead, and Bass.

As for wine, it's gotta be red. Favorites are usually Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Malbecs.

Love Mojitos and Margarita's for mixed drinks.

Mmmm, now I want a drink! I sound like a lush too!

Ever since my first 5K, if there is free beer at the end of the race, I drink what they are serving. Cheers!

The only races I've done that had no beer at the finish line have been Disney races, but I avoid the 5Ks in the dry counties around here.

Share??? what is this word, "share?"

You and I have similar tastes Dave...straight gin, Laphraoig (expensive taste!)...all my favs. More reason for us to be drinking together in Epcot in January...3 medals dangling...

Ok, so really hoppy brews: Arrogant and Ruination.
Booze: Straight Beefeater.
Wine: Syrah or petite syrah. I'll take a heavy Cabernet as well.

Oh, and this thread is for runners ONLY...just kidding. :D

^^Haha^^ I actually didn't even notice this boozin thread was in the running forum. I am not a runner, but I do exercise daily. I will slowly back out of here and talk about beer elsewhere. :p:lookaroun:wave:

Brews: I love brown ales, so Newcastle is my standard. Special occasions warrant Spaten Oktoberfest, Mac and Jack's Amber (local), or any Black Raven brew (also local).

Booze: Gin - Tanqueray (Rangpur with tonic). Hendrick's too. For martini's - A Vesper

Wine: Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin is my standard house wine. Sometimes I'll find a good Chianti, but I rarely note the label (unfortunately).

I was kidding too! I figured it out quick that I was a stranger in a strangeland. No worries!! Funny, I see anyone talking about drinks in new posts and I'm all over it! And just to be clear, I'm a sister! I do check out your running threads every once in awhile, the DH is a runner.

This is going to frighten anyone with actual taste-buds, but when I was in college, I lived on National Bohemian.

I don't drink much beer now, but on the rare occasion I find someone who has Natty Bo, I'll always grab one.

My real vice is Vanilla Coke. I go into withdrawal when I'm somewhere (like Disney World) that I can't get it.

A glass of reisling maybe once a month is about all I ever drink. Just can't stand the taste of most alcohol. No matter how many times I've heard "Oh, you can't even taste the alcohol in here," I can ALWAYS taste it and I hate it. Some reislings are sweet enough that I like them, but that's it.
