What's up with Imagination?

Speaking just to idea of a restaurant in the Imagination pavilion, I think it would be cool to incorporate ideas from the molecular gastronomy school of cooking. They could apply those ideas to make some really interesting foods along the lines of stuff found in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, or the type of food that Robert Irvine made in the episode of Dinner: Impossible where he was cooking for a group of magicians. Mainly, they could make food to look completely different from what it is made of or tastes like. For anyone that has seen that show or knows the type of cooking should have an idea of what I am referring to, and could be an awesome addition to Epcot and WDW in general.

The downside I see is that it would likely be quite a pricey restaurant, and I admit that Epcot may already be a little bloated in the TS restaurant department. Regardless, I still think it'd be a cool restaurant to see, and I think Epcot/Image pavilion would be a perfect place for it.

I have happened to see that exact episode, and think that would be really cool for an Imagination restaurant. The other thought I've had before for "creative eating" is fondue, which I've had the pleasure of experienceing for the first time recently. I think a fondue restaurant would be a great addition to EPCOT, and have thought that a good place for that would be either Journey Into Imagination (but once again, that would make Future World West a little too restaurant heavy), or Odyssey. I'd also love to see General Motors booted out of the Transportation pavilion, allowing Disney to put a restaurant up where the current VIP lounge is, offering a spectacular view of Future World. So maybe that could be fondue.

I dunno, I was very impressed with the recent changes and script re-write to the House of Innoventions in I:East. The key to the front door was a savy finger-print key hole, the eco-friendly kitchen table was stylishly made of corrigated cardboard, the office and living room were both very impressive, and the garage had a fuel efficient family vehicle. I could tell that our tour filled my group with inspiration- not just 'ooh I gotta buy that!', but actual facination in our modern and future home technologies. THoI is something that many people walk right by when it's an actual hidden jem in the mish-mash that is Innoventions.

You are not kidding it is hidden! As many times as I have walked through there I have never seen it. Sounds interesting though. Who is in charge of signage?

Merf suggested a Starbucks a few months ago.I would like that.A frapachino and Future World! What could be better?!?

Anything would be better than nothing especially if they can put everything under one roof so to speak. ANd as long as the crowds support the TS restaurants at Epcot they should just keep adding more IMO

You have an over active one?

If you are talking about the OP, you might be imagining. He is right that they have been adding air tight consruction walls when major construction is about to begin (Soarin', wave). So don't misunderestimate the Merf's judgement. He is right much more often than not.

I just know that Disney has to do something with this ride. The title Journey into Imagination with Figment probably violates Truth in Labeling laws. It's not much of a Journey and there is NO Imagination, although they are telling the truth that there is Figment, making this 2/3 deceptive.

Heading for the great escape.

What gives you the impression that I would be the least bit interested in the existance of things like construction walls, air tight or otherwise or the sprocket radius of the drive chains on SSE? Some of us are focussed on the entertainment derived from the par

Merf is big enough and ugly enough to take a bit of gentle ribbing from me about his obsessive Disney orthodoxy without members of his booster club manning the barricades.

WHHOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH You really think Im that interested in construction walls?

but im sure he appreciates support from his fan base. :animwink:

Please no starbucks in Epcot! I know that they might be a good sponsor but I think they need more creativity in imagination pavilion.

If you don't care about construction walls (and their differences) then you might be in the wrong forum. I mean new permits being filed with the city are actively tracked here. It's just what happens at this great forum.

As for Merf's "fan base", I think he only has contempt for it :ROFLOL:

But when you close your eyes, you feel like a train is passing by you.

The only other place you can get that experience is in a home theater...

...oh, wait...

;)

But you can go to a home theatre at Best Buy, you don't have to go to Orlando. If Disney brings Imagination back I would think they would have to at least consider trackless vehicles. Hard Rock Park is using trackless with their Nights in White Satin ride and Ghostwood Estate at Kennywood will use them too. WIth trackless, it would be possible to stop and reposition the cars. For example, the scene with dreamfinder could be shortened to maybe a minute and a half and a group of cars positioned in front of the scene. Then another set of cars would be in the load area. After the dreamfinder scene is over, the load area cars could come in and so on..... This would eliminate the turntable, which strikes me as a huge waste of space. But until something like that happens, Disney lawyers better consider that the title is against consumer protection truth in labeling laws - Not much of a journey and NO imagination!:(

It's not very well marked since I never remember seeing it for the last 5 years or so. I thought it had been removed.
Yeah, House of Innoventions isn't very well marked and is hard to find, despite its huge size. If you're ever looking for it, it's in Innoventions: East. If you're walking past where Fantastic Plastics was to the left, HoI is the next exhibit on the left. Definitely check it out!

Amazing, I can not recall it at all and have probably walked passed that area 10 times. It really does need some signage. Thanks for the information though. I'll make sure to check it out next time.

This actually has been thrown around here (in the past) at great length. Winnie the Pooh in Tokyo (I believe it's TDL) uses this ride system. Good call!
