Watching my vacation-video
I wanted to know what are some of the things you guys doing when your missing Disney at home. What are things that bring back the most memories that can "take you back" to WDW that you do at home...?
as you can see im really missing it =(
I am watching my selfmade WDW-videos (well actually Florida-Video but 90% ARE WDW) I made in 1991 and last summer. The 1991 video takes only about one hour (Batteries capacity were still a concern in 1991, not today however, I can film at least 5 hours per day! without having to recharge) but includes for example the entire original Illuminations that has been canceled long ago.
But mostly I watch the Big One from summer 2007.
The entire video is 7 1/2 hours long, more than 6 1/2 hours cover WDW only and it includes all 4 parks and Typhoon Lagoon. Several attractions (Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, TZToT, Maelstrom, BTMR, EE, Great Movie Ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris etc. etc.) are completely covered in full length and several times (day and night). I also filmed all land outer areas and the major parades and shows (again in full length e.g. Spectromagic, Wishes, new Illuminations - my new camcorder makes VERY good quality night videos) And to make the home experience complete I filmed our hotels, Wilderness Lodge and Coronado Springs. If I watch this video or better "WDW-Vacation Movie" I feel like I am back. I also have several CDs and MP3s with more than 5 hours of WDW-Music :All attraction themes and songs, shows, tons of background music (Adventureland alone has a 45 minute loop) etc. which are quite useful to bring some WDW-atmosphere to my apartment.
However I am very sad, VERY sad (that is a BIG SAD - you get the picture) that I don't have the REAL ORIGINAL UNFORGETTABLE Tikki Room. In 1991 I missed to film it (i hate myself for this - did I already mention that I am sad about that?) and now with the "new management" I stopped the recording after the first 2 minutes. I also missed Tom-Sawyer-Island. I still didn't figure out why I missed filming it in 8 days at WDW.
To make the nostalgic feeling complete I wear my Expedition Everest T-Shirts or drink from my WDW-Megamug, use my TL-towel etc...
And sometimes I look through my 600+ fotos.
So with the more than 7 hours of WDW-footage, the merchandise and the music I am able to survive at least a while until it is time again to go "home".
