What's Still On and What's Now Off

How about accept that what you’re saying isn’t 100% fact and the actual experts don’t have a true consensus on many facets of the virus including if heat does in fact kill or retards the virus. Repeating talking points said on tv does not mean you actually are correct.
Here's the facts...

I’m guessing all equity entertainment will be slow to come back. The idea being, that mermaid was already going to close eventually, so they just aren’t going to plan on reopening it when other shows do.

I hope it’s not the case, but I could see Disney re-making all live shows to use no equity, and hardly any live performers. Just a bunch of Cars, Beauty and Beast sing along level shows.

I hope not, its bad enough they ditched impressions de france (barely a showing or two at night doesn't count, so yes they ditched it) for that horrible inferior sing along.

As someone who considers himself a realist, not a Doom-and-Gloomer, and who truly loves the parks and was supposed to be there this week—it pains me to admit these two tweets are right.
It has to depend on how bad this gets, right? That’s a probable outcome, but we could see this get so bad that current management and their philosophies get kicked out of the company.

Because I dont want to scroll through pages to see what’s been mentioned or not. I find the idea of mandatory online check-in honestly a pretty reasonable thing to do. So in regard of “what’s off” it could be in-person hotel check-in. Which I already didn’t do anyways.

so do you think it is reasonable that all visitors be required to own a smartphone with software allowing the Disney app to operate?

That seems to be a bit unreasonable to me.
Maybe they could offer to rent out a device for use. Doesn’t need to be an actual phone. Something equivalent to an iPod touch could probably run the app. They just take your credit card and charge you something nominal like $5 a day to use the device and if you don’t return it then they charge you for a replacement.

I meant for online check-in. But yes Counter Service as well if they are going to enforce mobile ordering which will be its own problem beyond the mobile ordering.

As for mobile ordering... so if my phones battery is dead I can’t buy food?

Or the app has issues. Or the in-park wi-fi has issues etc

Disney can encourage mobile ordering, but it shouldn't be mandatory.

For checking in you don’t need the app. Can’t you checkin online from home and use your magic band once you arrive to get into the room?

They do offer the phone charging stations around the parks. Or you just eat from the food carts or table service I guess. I’m not sure how all people doing mobile ordering helps unless they go to a be our guest style system where the bring the food to your table. If everyone is lining up to pickup mobile orders isn’t that just as bad as lining up to order from the cashier. I guess it saves contact with the cashier but not the mob of others you are waiting with.

I don’t think any of us who has used it thinks mobile ordering is ready for that kind of roll out anyways. It’s far from a smooth operation.

When it works well... it’s great. But I’ve had particularly bad experiences with mobile ordering at busy locations (dole whip and Docking bay specifically).
