So just been thinking we always take around £1000 for our 2 week WDW vacation, we stay on site with dining plan and park tickets already bought, so I was thinking how much does everyone else take or do you just use credit cards and worry about the cost later?

Staying offsite, for a central Florida trip (not just Disney) we budget $1000 per person per week, and find its slightly too much. That's for food, drinks, souvineers and sundries. No park access, lodgings or travel apart from petrol.

We have found that we do well budgeting $100 /day. We also have the Disney Visa along just in case we find something we cant do without. If we want to splurge we never overextend to what we cant afford to pay off later so its never been a problem. I enjoy pin trading/ collecting so I always know a chunk of of my money will go to picking up pins that I want to add to my pin books.

We limit our purchases of souvenirs to something we really like or need. We are done with the $8 for this, $12 for that, $75 for another thing. It adds up too quickly. As for dining, we share meals because the portions are big enough for it at counter service meals. Plus, some have enough things at the fixing bar to make a small salad as well with that burger. Between meals and what ever else we spend, we try to keep it at $200 a day.

Our only 'budget' is saving for the flight/hotel/tickets. Once we get there usually we don't go crazy with eating/shopping.

I looked over our most recent trip and we averaged $68 per person per day. I would say it would have been more if we weren't on the club level and were buying breakfast.

We usually having a spending cap of 12-1500$ for an 8 day stay, but we always have the dining plan. The money is for 1.tipping and 2. That money is everyone else's Christmas gifts

Honestly, we budget (and spend) about $300 or less. For my entire family of four. For a week.

Putting aside the cost of the hotel, food (including gratuities) and airfare, we don't spend more than an extra $50 per day, and usually less. That covers a couple of alcoholic beverages for DH and I here and there, Mousekeeping and/or bellman tips, and a small (~$25) souvenir per person, for the week.

We have stores at home and can order Disney merchandise delivered to our doorstep from myriad websites, anytime we like, so for us, spending any appreciable time shopping in the parks is a waste. Along the same lines, spending money on "add-on" experiences not included in our ticket price (e.g., dessert parties, Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, jet ski rentals, etc.) seems ridiculous when we already can't squeeze in all of the "free" stuff in a week's time, and are paying a fortune to be there already. Ditto for spending additional money on a car rental or taxis, when we already get it for free. Don't get me wrong -- we have an absolute ball -- but we find we don't need much extra money to do it.

Whatever amount you decide to bring, do try to keep to a budget and track your expenditures, so the charges don't sneak up on you! :)

I am a cheapo I guess. But we go at least once a year and sometimes 2 or 3 times. We go for like 8-14 days and maybe the grandkids get to buy about 150 bucks each in stuff while we are there.

I usually buy myself something like jewelry or a purse or a collector doll so I spend about the same for a souvenir. Maybe I spend about $ 100 on cocktails while I am there...and a couple of hundred on the spa. So besides travel, room, food and tickets, I usually plan on about $ 1000 in discretionary and it covers me and 2 grandkids.

My daughter has been known to buy 1000 bucks worth of junk though which sent me into space, since I am the one always footing the bill for our trips.

I don't charge any purchases. I bring cash and disney gift cards.

With the dining plan I am not expecting to spend more than an average of $10 per day at Disney. Most of my spending money will be saved for outlet shopping where I could spend $250-$500. At Universal & Busch I am allowing for $20 a day for food (as then evening meal will be at Disney on dining plan) then might spend $20 on a souvenir one day at Uni.

I will already have Memory Maker with UK tickets and I am paying the $60 upfront for Universal Photo Connect, so no spending on ride photos will be needed.
Hopefully the free $200 gift card will cover most of the table service tips charged to the room as well, otherwise that will be the biggest cost that will be on the room bill to pay off. But there might be a few glasses of wine with dinner too.

I plan about $50-$100 per person per day based on when we go and what we're doing. For instance when we go during food and Wine, we will be there 10 days, we have 4 ADRs, we'll probably have 4-6 prepaid F&W events/meals so we already know where most of our money will go. To be honest I usually over-budget and only end up spending about 1/2 to 2/3 of what I budget. This will also be the first time we are without TiW or DDP in a while, so it might be a bit different, but even before my tips would always be in the $10-$20 dollar range with DDP.
