Whats just outside WDW

[BRER DAD]

Were going to be staying outside of WDW for about a week until we check in to POR. Was wondering if anybody had any ideas of things to do or places to eat just outside of WDW. I dont want to spend a fortune on entertainment. We plan on spending some time at down town Disney and seeing wishes at the Poly, but any other suggestions would be great. Thank you all for your help in advance.

We like visiting Old Town in the evening, it is a great place to have dinner, wonder around the shops, grab a beer and the kids love the amusements.

There's always Kissimee...Florida's version to Wisconsin Dells..sans the many waterparks out there.

Hmm ... I never though of it that way!

No wonder I love the Dells so much. Except for the fact that my father can't go by one of the "Ducks" without wanting to go on a tour. :brick:

AUTHENTIC park merchandise? With "Walt Disney World" written on it? Nothing else counts as authentic. Not only something with Disney? And merchandise with EPCOT, MK, DHS and DAK on it? Or even attraction merchandise that's not even available at most other stores in the parks? Sorry I doubt it as long as I don't see it by myself. We checked too many stores (at least 8 or 9) where they said they would have authentic merchandise and then always had the same non-park-related stuff.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it's true. I was somewhat irritated to see my Where Magic Lives AUTHENTIC Walt Disney World T-shirt for sale there for much less than I paid in the park (Magic Kingdom). It wasn't a new design, it had been around for a while, but it was AUTHENTIC, as was many of their other items from past seasons (especially holiday items).

But then again I guess you won't believe me either.
