What's happening with Innoventions West?

The installation of the new Glidden Exhibit "Colortopia" should be in this space in the near future. PPG the owner of Glidden is very excited about it. The coincides nicely with the Disney colors that Glidden offers now. @berlioz70 is just being cagey.

Colortopia is going into Innoventions East.

Unless that Big Hero 6 rumor has legs, West will probably be nothing but the Chase photo spot and outdated video games for the foreseeable future.

I stand corrected.

Pretty sad that between both East & West Innoventions they have only 3 exhibits open.
Well EPCOT after all is a showcase to the world of the ingenuity and imagination of American free enterprise.

I'd say 3 remaining exhibits of US corporations who actually produce anything anymore is spot on. The other exhibitions sell hot air or are outsourced to Mexico and India.

Exhibits on their own do not sell stuff. World showcase sells food, booze, and souvenirs.

Exhibits are negative ROI.
Not necessarily. Exhibits many times are sponsored by a corporation. The corporation not only pays for the right to exhibit (sponsorships) but they also pay for the installation and staffing (if needed). I would say that Exhibits may be neutral long term verses a profit center but they are not a negative ROI.

I'd rather they just finally call it quits on the concept and put a dark ride in one side (possibly revolving around robotics?) and a sit down location in the other? I'd want it to seem rather futuristic and cool looking though. I do think another Future World sit-down could do well... it only has one true sit-down and then a character meal and both are pretty well tucked away.

Well here we are 2 months later.. Any updates on Innoventions West? @berlioz70 @marni1971

Does anyone know if there are new exhibits in the works? Are they still looking for corporate sponsors? Is there even a plan for Innoventions West at this point?

With Frozen coming in, Epcot attendance will go up for sure. When leadership sees that, they will think nothing needs to be fixed at Epcot. That is the reality of it. All these empty spaces will continue to stay empty and the reduced numbers of exhibits/rides/things to do will put severe pressure on popular rides like TT, Soarin and the Frozen ride once it's done. All this will ruin what is left of any kind of positive experience one has at Epcot. But, the turnstiles will keep turning and leadership won't care as long as they are turning!
