Epcot is still worth visiting.. Not for Future World.. But for World Showcase and Illuminations. For shopping and dining. World Showcase is, by all means, the only reason to visit Epcot.. Unless you're a fan of Test Track and Spaceship Earth as well, that is understandable. :)

Well that is a personal opinion. There is not a thing in FW that I don't enjoy. The Land, The Seas, and Universe of Energy are my favourites.

I do love me some living with the land! I don't know what it is about that ride, but I just love it! It's funny how some of the original stuff is still so loved even though it's well over 30 years old, to me it's a testament to those designers who were allowed to truly create without (too) much restriction.

Future Word is my favorite land in the park, or was. The premise is amazing, a "Permanent World's Fair" but Disney is letting it rot away. It all started when they closed Horizons. Horizons fit the theme of Future World perfectly and they replaced it with... a simulator? Don't get me wrong, I love Mission Space, but it doesn't belong. Test Track doesn't belong either. It really makes me sad.

Disney is just letting it naturally progress into the current condition of the 1964 World's Fair site.

How about those who like Soarin? You don't always have to wait over 40 minutes for it without using fastpass plus.

I was able to go on Soarin' without waiting 20 minutes and didn't use Fast Pass Plus either on September 2nd. I did on that day after eating at Sunshine Seasons and had a 10 min waiting time.

You went during the off-season. Congrats. For most people, it'll definitely be over a 50 minute wait. Soarin' isn't great. Like. At all. At least in its current state. Hopefully that'll change with the update.

Again, still a personal opinion..... But... Still a popular personal opinion..

I was searching something earlier today and found a thread from 2006 where the comments were pretty much what everyone is saying here. That is, Future World needs updating and how come there so many abandoned spaces. Why did it get so far from what it once was, why aren't they doing those kinds of things anymore.

2006. Almost 10 years of dissatisfaction.

Why don't they just scrap the whole idea of future world and just use the space for more countries? I'm sure they can tie Soarin', The Seas, and even Test Track to some country if they wanted to. This is just sad. Give the park a cohesive theme.

If you don't realize how Future World fits into the theme then you need to log out.

Ewww. Did I say I did not understand their vision or theming for Epcot? No, but their outdated and slightly sad version of the future with its mix of Soarin', Nemo, Ellen, and Test Track really do not create as cohesive as a theme than if the entire park was themed to the countries of the world with their distinct cultures. I'm not truly suggesting they do this, nor would they, but with Future World being a shell of what it once was, I would be in favor of them looking at the park differently. Themed lands focused on the future are not what WDW is doing best at the moment. There is no reason to be rude to people, despite it being your username.

I'll grant you that Universe of Energy, Imagination Pavilion, and Innoventions need help and Nemo isn't used properly for living seas for Future World along with Wonders of Life shouldn't only be used for the Festivals Epcot has.

Living in the Land to me is still a classic attraction that I still go on. I do remember the classic days of Epcot due to my first Trips to WDW was in the early 1990's with WDW only having 3 theme parks at the time.
