What's behind Pop Century?

When I stayed at Pop Century this past weekend, I noticed that there are 2 buildings which seem to be abandoned, behind the resort. One of them seems kinda small with with the numbers 10, 20, 30, 40 in front of it, just like how the Classic years building has 50's, 60's, 70's etc, in front. There is also a brown building next to it, which looks like an unfinished building that belongs to the resort because it has the same outer shape as the other buildings with rooms. There is also another building like it at the entrance of Pop Century. It's located in the entrance, to the right. It's next to the big Pop Century hotel entrance sign. Can anyone explain what these buildings are being used for?

They were supposed to be the next phase of Pop Century, but Disney put the plans on hold a while back.

They just left the buildings as is... to rot.

What a waste. I wonder if Disney is ever going to get around to that side of Pop Century... I've stayed there twice and both times wondered what the Legendary Years (the name of the unfinished side of Pop Century, for inDisney) would be like.

Since attendance is back to pre-9/11 levels, one would only hope they finish the "Legendary Years". I'd stay there. Pop is my favorite value resort.

A very unsubstantiated rumor has Disney finishing and putting in suites in the former Legendary Years buildings. I don't know, I'd love to have a huge Monopoly board and a Steamboat Willie statue for the 20's. :)

This is one persistent rumor I would like to see. It makes sense after the All-Star Suite trial run, and to see those buildings over there; it is just so un Walt-like. Hopefully, our new CEO will have some wonderful plans :)

To let you know up front this is going to hurt...

An old proverb says that behind every good man is a good woman. So if you ask what is behind Pop Century, I would guess Mom Century.

The last time I was there (2-3 years ago) the building(s) were there. My dad heard that there is something wrong with ...if I remember correctly...the construction of the buildings and that Disney may need to demolish them and start over. (I'll check with my Dad, because it was about a month or so ago that we talked about it)....I'll let you guys know what he heard....

It has nothing to do with the constuction of the buildings. They stopped building them after 9/11 because they did not need that many new rooms. The three buildings (yes only 3 of the eventual 11) that have been built were built exactly the same way as the rest of Pop.
