What would you want to see out of a 5th WDW park? (If there's going to be one)

First of all, we're not getting a 5th park (I actually believe it will never happen) and I don't even want a 5th park (the other parks are completely neglected as it is and I wouldn't even describe AK as a completed park).

But ... if there was going to be a 5th park, Disney would be foolish to build it modeled on anything but the Magic Kingdom. And what I mean by that is:

1. A "castle" in the center
2. Classic wheel and spokes design
3. 5 large lands
4. 1 land entirely devoted to childrens' stories and rides

Personally, I always thought the "villains" concept was the smartest way to go, with a focus on more "thrill" rides for teenagers. But I wouldn't deviate far at all from the MK template. Disney has shown it is only going to market it's DL/MK parks and focus on children; building anything but this style of park is pretty much a waste going forward. If I could built it anywhere, I'd put it where the TTC stands right now.

I agree with that idea. After discussing something like that on the Imagineer forum, I found this: http://idealbuildout.blogspot.com/2010/12/dark-kingdom.html

Here we go again...

There will be no fifth gate for at least a generation (20 years). That's it.

There are two parks that are not considered a full-day park experience (DHS and even worse DAK), there is another park where a LOT has to be done (EPCOT) and the MK gets an expansion without a new E-ticket and has at least two lands which need a major addition.

More than enough to do for 10-15 years. Even more if TDO doesn't change it's expansion policy.

You know, I used to really dig speculating/arm-chair imagineering potential ideas for a fifth gate, but I have to agree, I'd rather see the current parks get some TLC.

Plus, the most commonly speculated theme for a fifth park: villains/thrill rides, just doesn't grab me. I have trouble picturing that as a robust enough theme for a full-day park. It'd be very cool to see, but it strikes me as being better suited to being a large land in a park, not a park unto itself. And like others have said, most people go to Disney to be immersed in an all-ages appropriate fantasy world, lots of other parks already do the thrill ride thing, and for a lot cheaper. Cedar Point forever.

A Marvel land would be ridiculously cool, but with the legal red tape, I bet that's a long way off. And like the villain park, that might work better as a land within a park, rather than a park unto itself.

Honestly, I think if there is a fifth park in the cards, I'd rather just have a clone of DisneySea... that looks insanely awesome, and would be the least similar to an existing WDW park. Villains, with their fantasy/animation origins seem pretty in line with Magic Kingdom, and Marvel, with their big city settings and big action seem in line with DHS.

Whats the hells that supposed to mean? I guess I cant have thoughts on a subject than?

The title of my thread is "What would you want to see out of a 5th WDW park? (if there's going to be one)"

I never implied there was going to be one, I simply threw out ideas for a 5th park. :hammer:

Don't you know you aren't allowed to talk about certain subjects on here. And you can't ask a question without apologizing profusely for not searching every available thread just in case it's been discussed before.
