What was your favorite Kilimajaro Safaris memory?

What was yours? What made that safari so special?

Mines was when the male and female lion were both up and actually interacting with each other. It was a great sight and the safari driver stopped for a few. The male lion roared as we went off into the sunset. Also on that same safari, A zebra was standing on a hill in front of the Cheetah habitat and the Cheetah was walking towards it (of course theres a huge pit between the cheetah and zebra). But it was walking toward it, like it was going to get it for lunch. And finally on the same one, a baby white rhino ran across the road before our safari truck, and then as we passed a HUGE white rhino came charging at right where I was sitting. I know they are very protective, and it's understandable, but the way it charged at the car was very frightening and exciting at the same time.

So what was your favorite memory?

Last year....first truck out right after breakfast with Donald...It seemed like all the animals were up and about and lots of them seemed alot closer to the road then they do later in the day. We are doing it again this year..hopefully we will get the same animal close up sights!!!

Was just there two weeks ago, we were riding when we get stopped for some reason. Which would have been crappy-and after awhile a lot of people began to complain of the heat and all-but we got stopped right at the Elephant watering hole. So while this disruption-ie-animal in the path-we watched as the baby elephant played in the water and with his mother and was just so freaking adorable...its not every day you get to see that. Half the time we got lucky to see one or two not four and a baby...I felt like singing the song in Dumbo....and this was no five minute getting stuck I would say we were out there for about fifteen minutes easily.

But that baby elephant was freaking adorable.

I have a few that stand out the most:

1) Having a rhino walk right up to the vehicle right next to where I was sitting!

2) Having our path blocked for several minutes by a giraffe standing in the middle of the road!

3) Having our path blocked for several minutes by an ostrich standing in the middle of the road!

4) Getting to actually meet Warden Wilson and Ms. Jobson! ;)

(just kidding about the last one!)

The most memorable excursion was the early morning time when we were stopped for a full five minutes while a family of giraffes crossed the road in front of us.

This tiny baby giraffe was cautious and didn't want to cross, but finally managed after everyone in our truck cheered her on!

So sweet!

The first time we did the safari in the morning, it seemed like the whole savannah was up and moving. Especially when we got to the lions, I had never seen them actually moving. But both were up, the male was pacing around the top of the rock.

Also had a giraffe practically stick his tail into the truck with us......that was, ummmmm interesting

My most favorite moment....A very young (couple of months old) elephant was chasing a buzzard. He was flaring his hears, trying to trumpet and just acting that the biggest baddest thing in all of Harambe. He rounded a corner a little to sharp and fell over. He popped up real quick and I could of sworn he had the "Nobody saw that!" look on his face.

My least favorite moment.....when chasing the poachers at the end I became airborne and landed on my misters.

That is fantastic! Like the Jungle Book baby elephant. Would love to witness something like that on the safari.

Mine is sort of simple, but it's still my favorite. My then fiance and I ended up sitting the front row of the truck by ourselves. The driver would talk to us and give us some sort of "behind the scenes" type information about the animals when she was between her mandatory script. It was really fun because we learned some different things about the different animals and their personalities.

Just last Monday was the best KJS I've been on so far.

Here's a rundown of some things that happened:

1.) Saw a baby elephant running around

2.) Large rhino literally mere feet away from the vehicle GROWLING at us. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time.

3.) Finally caught a glimpse of a cheetah!

4.) Saw a baby giraffe feeding off the mother giraffe!

AND FINALLY, my favorite moment of my last trip to DAK....

5.) Saw 2 adult elephants playing in the water, literally swimming, and spitting water on top of each other! It reminded me of a scene you'd see on the world famous Jungle Cruise!!
