what was the best WDW guest meltdown you've observed

After about 5 minutes, I noticed a woman who appeared to be in her late 40's staring at me. Over the next 10 minutes she continued to stare and I was a little weirded out
This is when I would've stopped what I was doing and stared right back at her. Sometimes you've got to play mind games with these entitled idiots. You did the right thing by keeping calm throughout, but next time, share the stares right back (even add a casual smile, to completely throw her for a loop).

A few minutes later, the woman walked over to me and asked me in a very sharp tone how long I planned to sit there.
Once again, play mind games with these people. Just keep smiling & staring at her while she goes on her tirade. Make a polite remark about how nice the weather is. Don't even respond to the actual words she's saying. It's amazing how a little subtle confusion can work in your favor.
You had every right to be sitting where you were. Don't give her words the response she craves.

Last night at DHS, we were walking to Osborne (for the official opening) and there was a mom, grandma, and two boys. The boys were very excited about seeing the lights, so they kept talking about it, but the mom was not. She quickly got annoyed and said "if I'm going to watch this light show, I need a beer. Maybe two." Her son responded "No mommy, you'll be okay". To which she said "I don't care what you think. Shut it or we are leaving". It was really sad.

I understand that a person likes to have a beer every now and then (I don't personally like it because it tastes like I would imagine urine to taste), but to each his or her own. However, I've never heard of meltdown over a beer but I have overheard many people walking through Epcot talking about how they just can't wait to get a beer. Some of them had their family with them and you can see the looks on the family members as if they were thinking "Well, here they go drinking again." It's pretty sad that some people can't go an entire vacation with their family without drinking. As I said, if someone wants to have a beer then I have no problem with it but when it starts to interfere with a vacation or starts to make the family they're with uncomfortable then it becomes a bit of a problem. An acquaintance of mine goes to Disney regularly and leaves his family to do their own thing while he goes and find the nearest place that sells alcohol and starts drinking. He drinks everyday when he gets home to the point of being drunk every evening. Everything they do as a family has to revolve around drinking and him getting his beer. But of course if you ask him he doesn't have a problem.

[QUOTE=". Also, why should I give up my seat with my bad back just so someone can seat their 4 year old on the seat. I wouldn't have a problem if the person sat down and put their child on their lap but no, their 4 year old is tired from spending all day riding around in a stroller and needs to sit down and put his feet all over the other guests.[/QUOTE]

I agree. When I was a kid, there was no way my parents would let us sit while there were adults needing seats. And, we walked, not rode in strollers.

I have a friend who went to WDW a few years ago. They're catholic and they have a lot of children. Well, from her story, a guy kicked her stroller and pushed one of her children down. She then ran after the guy who was then running away from him. She lost him, but then noticed that him and his daughter were at Fantasmic. My friend's husband told the cast member about the guy.. And apparently they were brought to the head person over MGM Studios at the time!! The guy asked them if they were waiting to see the Fantasmic show and said that they could see the later showing of Fantasmic.

So apparently, management kicked the guy and his daughter out of the park. They then let my friend, her husband and their kids go on all of the rides and skip the standby lines on every ride. (Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, ect.) Then they gave them V.I.P. seating with desserts for Fantasmic.. After THAAT... My friend's husband was taken backstage of Fantasmic to see the control room.

So this was probably about.. Say.. 9 or 10 years ago. I'm just wondering.. Who the heck was in charge of MGM back then cuz he seems like a pretty awesome guy!

I find it kind of disturbing that a manager just took one guests word over another with no proof, I mean this guy was a stranger they could have just thought it was the guy, and his daughter did not deserve t have her trip ruined because of the alleged actions of her Dad.

Unfortunately I was on the receiving end of a CM meltdown one trip. We had just arrived in Florida that day and we spent the afternoon at MK. Well I had major stress fractures in my shin bones, bad enough that I actually had a cast on one of my legs to help with the pain which meant I needed the assistance of an ECV for my trip. It was my first time in an ECV and my first trip with any kind of physical impairment other than my back issues. I had rented an ECV from an offsite company which meant it was smaller than the standard Disney ones, including the wheels. Well, our first day at MK was a Christmas party night and we were trying to exit the park as party guests were coming in but people were also lining Main Street waiting for the parade, which made exiting the park difficult (this was before they started using the back exit). My mom and I were trying to cut across Main Street to the side with the Emporium as that is the side of the street the exiting guests were using. Unfortunately we were crossing in a section where a number of trolley tracks intersected and the front wheel of my ECV got wedged between the trolley tracks. As my mom and I are trying to get the ECV out of the tracks and not get trampled by all the exiting guests, a Photopass CM started yelling and screaming at me to get out of his way, that I was ruining his shot. He never once offered to help me, which would have gotten me out of his shot faster, he just kept yelling at me to move out of his shot. We actually had a really nice couple stop and help me get the ECV unstuck and across Main Street. I know now we should have stopped and reported the CM to Guest Relations but at the time I was so upset I just wanted to get out of the park and back to our hotel. I was already stressed from travelling with a cast on and dealing with an ECV for the first time that I couldn't handle the CM yelling at me as well that I was actually crying when I left MK that night.

Well, honestly, I'm not sure which parts of the story were 100% true.. I was just repeating what she had said. :) I do know that they did meet the head of MGM and had all of that V.I.P. treatment, but she was lacking a little detail about what actually happened during the incident.

I witnessed a huge meltdown on the kali river rapids just a few weeks ago. A couple took their son on the ride who clearly did not want to be there. He was only around 3-4 and was moaning from the very second he sat down that he wanted to get off, Mom jovially says to the rest of the boat 'hes probably going to cry' like its amusing.. okkkayy then i looked at my partner thinking well why did you drag him on here. Well he did cry, the entire ride & of course Mom and son were the two that got absolutely soaked at every turn and the big drop and he was screeching at glass breakage tempo by this point for the remainder of the ride. it was a pretty horrible experience for the rest of us but mom and dad just kept smiling and semi reassuring child without much enthusiasm.
I just don't get it, if you take a small child to Disney you go knowing full well that you will either have to child swap for any bigger rides or just miss out, don't force your screaming child on other unsuspecting riders and traumatize the poor tots.

many of the problems lke this can be avoided if parents did not force their kids to go to Disney before they are old enough to take it all in.
if your kids are miserable then I guarntee no one will have a good time.

This reminds me of the time I went on DL's Storybook Land Canal Boats a few years ago. In front of me was a 4 year old girl, her mom, and grandma. The child was spooked for whatever reason by the ride and didn't want to get on. Grandma solved the problem by picking her up and plunking her into the boat. Of course, the screams were deafening. Once the boat started moving she calmed down a bit. She was just starting to settle in when Grandma pointed at Monstro and said "Oh look, we're being eaten by a whale!" Once again, the screams were deafening. And this time she never calmed down till the ride was over. If there ever was a time when I wanted to smack a grown person . . . . .

many of the problems lke this can be avoided if parents work with their kids to determine when they are ready to go to Disney and what attractions will best suit them, based on maturity level and behavior.

FTFY. Age is just one piece that should be considered.

Best I saw was on "John & Kate Plus 8" when Kate b**ched about ice cream spilling on the kids outfits at MK when they had a private, once-in-a-lifetime meet and greet with 3 princesses on the lawn in front of the castle. Also she couldn't figure out her new camera on the trip so she called the Disney trip the "worst vacation" they ever had. Disney bent over backwards for that family and yet Kate complained about everything. This is also the main reason why "Little People, Big World" wasn't allowed to film inside the parks. Disney didn't want TLC around for a while after the Kate incident.

I heard she loved the Dumbo attraction. But I remember when commercials for the WDW episode was showing up more often years ago. I had to avoid it due to my love of Disney and I had a bad feeling about this knowing how Kate acted in the past episodes. Also I remember when TLC was actually decent until 2007 or 2008.

Heck I remember TLC once had a children's block but lasted for one year in 2006 called "Ready Set Learn" only shown on weekday mornings way before TLC had Toddlers & Tiaras, John & Kate plus 8, and Little People Big World. Also I hardly seen "Little People, Big World" so can you described the weird situations for any episode that you can remember?

Sounds like a lot of people that go to Disney parks these days. Entitled. When they do not immediately get their way they freak out. Sometimes over very minor things like not being allowed FP entry a few minutes early.

They had people vote online where they wanted to see them go for vacation that year and Disney World won. But TLC wasn't allowed into the parks so the family just did other things around Orlando.

Disney had complimentary embroidered mouse ears for every member of the family waiting for them in their Wilderness Lodge Suite and yet she was still not satisfied.

Remember Disney has thousands of surveillance cameras pretty much everywhere so I'm pretty sure they had the incident on tape from multiple cameras
