I take 2 bags - one tiny backpack (about the size of a purse) that I carry with me. It has pockets on the sides for water, holds my camera, sunblock, money, (I attach my pins for trading to it - less heavy than the lanyard), meds (advil/pepto - don't want to feel bad at WDW! - and it's light so you don't pay $8 a bottle). I take another backpack that goes in a rental locker - I put my jacket, lots of bottles of water/soda, snacks, extra socks, etc in that. For the cost of a locker - I save on snacks, have emergencies covered and don't have to run back to the hotel if I don't want to. This way I can carry with me what I want and store the rest.

Hand sanitizer, camera, hand sanitizer, key to the world, and more hand sanitizer. I have ruined my trip ( and others with me) by getting sick so I have become obsessed with hand wipes and Purell while at WDW.

I am not very girly in the since that I have to have a purse and things with me. The least amount of stuff is the way to go. I usually just walk around with an ID, a little cash and my card/tickets. Of course now that we have a little one things are dif. changing and I have a book bag for a diaper bag but look forward to the days its just the simple stuff

Our first couple of trips when my DDs were younger (3&6), I packed the sunscreen, sunglasses or hats, camera & case, extra batteries & my mini-wallet but for this past Jan (DDs 7&10) each girl had her camera & I only took my "Key to the Kingdom" :sohappy:

as little as possible...

We keep a lot in the safe and I bought a very small purse to carry with my card, brush, lip balm and band-aids. My kids are old enough they have their own packs (which I know some people would refuse to carry) because they don't have to be moved or taken off on most rides and they're easy to open for them and they carry their own cards, sunglasses and water flavor packs. I try to take as little as possible with us into the parks, just what is absolutely neccessary. You're walking most of the day and when we go it's still very hot and humid so the less I have to carry the better. :)

We carry 3 bags inside the pars not big backpacks but tinnier ones and we alternate who holds it.

My bag normally has some sweatshirts, my wallet, and enough room if I want to put my lanyard in or if someone gets sick of wearing their ears.

The next bag has more sweatshirts(we are a party of 5) Wallets, cameras, maps, sunscreen etc.

The last bag is a cooler backpack we tried this for the first time this year. It wasn't that heavy either. we packed about 6-8 water bottles and took them into the parks. It was very convenient and it ended up saving us money:)

i always carried a reusable water bottle & wondered if you could bring in an opened bottle of water to the parks? I would think you could but just wanted to check because I think some places have a policy that doesn't allow open bottles.

Now that our childern are a little older I will bring in as little as possible. Except for maybe a bottle of water, if it doesn't fit in my pocket then I really don't want to bring it. I hate having to carry things around for too long. Also if you don't have any bags you don't have to wait in the security line.

We have never had a problem with an open bottle of water. We have done it quite often without even so much as a glance.

That should get you through on an average day but what about the days when there is an evening EMH?

As a Disney Resort guest you can reduce your personal stuff down to an absolute minimum. We take camera, camcorder plus equipment (additional tapes etc) and our Disney resort hotel key to the world-cards, so we don't need any wallets, keys etc.
We don't need cellphones because we don't expect anyone to call us during holiday (we are from Germany) and we don't have to call either. As this will be the first trip with our ipod touch it's possible that we would take it with us in case of long lines.
But thats about it. If we need anything else, a 10 minute bus trip or a short trip with the monorail brings us to our hotel room. I just love staying at a Disney resort because you don't have to prepare for a visit to the parks like you would go on a Kilimanjaro Safari (pun intended), you only take with you the bare necessities. :D
