What to say to Disney World bashers?

"We have really nice hotels...."

No- we do, but there's so much to do and see. (;

Sure, we DLR almost has as much attractions as us- but ours are separated into the world they belong and fit in and there is more to do and privacy to WDW. I can't imagine staying strictly at DLR for my entire vacation, but I can in WDW- and think about it daily. It's truly its own world- something no other resort can really say- except maybe Paris... :p

I just tell them the to go to 6 Flags. To each his own. I have a friend that makes fun of me, then spends thousands of dollars a year losing at Texas hold em. Each time I ask him to pull out his photo album and show me the pics. He's going to WDW with me for the first time this June.

The majority of the people haven't been, or try to cram in 1 day. Spend that day rushing around, and never enjoy themselves because of it.

I get made fun of constantly and of course with my mouth and upbringing from good old Brooklyn New York City if I didn't ask them for their opinion to start with I simply tell them " I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK" I DIDN"T ASK YOU YOUR OPINION SO SHUT UP!!!!
Actually the more ppl that do not like Disney the better for us who do go there and love it, more room and space and time to get on rides too. Less crowds.
I love Disney I always will love Disney till the Day I die.
I plan on retiring and moving down to Florida and take up a part time job working for Disney do whatever in one of their parks.!!!
So for those of you who do not like Dinsey, WHY ARE YOU ON HERE !!!
LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I am very passionate about Disney!!! :sohappy::sohappy::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Think for yourselfer
I just don't bother trying to explain it. I am a 27 y/o male, so as you can imagine most of my friends berate me constantly about my yearly trips down to Disney. Most of the jokes are much less tame then the Disney is for kids variety also. I just ignore it, who cares if people don't get it. If you don't buy into the magic, then you will probably never get it, and they don't. Oh well I say.

I'm a 28 year old guy and mostly people just think it's funny that I enjoy Disney so much but for the folks that actually bash Disney...well let's just say there's not "a great big beautiful tomorrow" shining at the end of the day for them....

I worked with a guy, that everytime I would go to Orlando (to go to Disney and Universal) he would ask me why would I support Disney? The are evil.. He doesn't let his kids enjoy anything disney because they have Witch Craft and dark over tones. But yet He will let them watch movies that are not very family friendly and go to Universal. Don't get me wrong I like Universal .. a lot. .... I told him that I enjoy getting away and escaping to a place that offers a lot, Food, Entertainment, Attractions, Rides and an opportunity to to take pictures and make memories. I think its a shame that his kids will not know how much fun a Disney Park is.

Aww, that sucks how just because he thinks the mouse is producing "witch craft" then it means the kids lose out on the parks.

I gotta admit, Universal and Islands were quite dreadful as a child. I can only imagine their pain. :cry:

I guess that's gonna change now that Harry Potter is coming to USO!:lol:

I hate when people won't let their kids read or watch acts of FICTION, and call them evil.:rolleyes:

I've gotten a few comments regarding why I choose to go visit the Disney Parks every couple of years. I simply tell them that it's something that I enjoy on my vacation, and it may not be for everyone. Of course, it's normally adults who've never been to the parks question on why I would want to "go to a kid's park."

I usually offer them the opporunity to pay for my vacation in return for their dictating where I go. For some reason, they always turn that offer down. :veryconfu

tell them to go to universal. wdw is too crowded.

:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

When someone starts yapping at me about how they went to WDW 100 years ago and it was too this, too that, I just smile at them and say . . . "That's o.k. I'm glad you don't like it. That's one less person standing in front of me in line." :wave:

The easiest way to deal with the nay-sayers is to ask them if they have actually been to WDW as it's a given that 99.9% will say 'no'. How can you disparage anything without first hand knowledge of what you speak?

My next door neighbours are frequent Orlando visitirs and always restricted themselves to Universal because their kids where older (teens) and showed no real interest in the mouse. On their last trip, December, they got quickly bored with Universal as they where able to scoot around it in a few hours (cold weather, low attendance) so they took a one day trip to MK which turned into spending the rest of their holiday at WDW. They loved it.

I also have a workmate who visited Orlando and came back comlaining of a crap holiday!!!! He didn't visit any of the parks, hung around I-Drive for a full two weeks and complained of not being able to find a vegetarian restaurant for his overly fussy wife. You can lead a horse to water ......

I usually just shrug my shoulders at them. You can't make someone like Disney. You either get it or you don't. :shrug:

I always ask them if they have ever been. If they say yes, then I ask how long ago. I was 28 years old when I went for the first time and we LOVED it. Yes, it can get very crowded and who wants to stand in line after line hour after hour. But there is also the atmosphere, the shows, and other places of interest in Orlando and not just at WDW. Albeit, we only ever do WDW....If they have never been, then I just say to them, how can you bash it if you have never been to experience it. My dad is was in his 60's when he went for the first time, LOVES going. The one thing my sister and I thought he would hate the most were the shows...those are his FAVORITE!..FOTLK is his absolute MUST DO at AK!!!

I do also tell people that have not been that inquire..if you do not like crowds, kids and spending a lot of money, then it is NOT the place for you, but at least give it a try once!:lol:
