Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi All!

So this next trip is going to be 8 nights at the GF! We want to make sure to enjoy the resort as much as possible so we are only planning on 4 days at the parks. One day we'll do Blizzard Beach (we have no exp tickets left over from our honeymoon) and then one evening we are going to P&PP. We have never done this kind of trip before so we are looking for ideas on what to do on non park days. Also, what are your favorite places to eat at other resorts?

Thanks for your help!!!

Montymon had some great ones.

Our favorite resort meals are:
Boma
Chef Mickey's
Kona

We love Downtown Disney and Disneyquest. Between the two, I could definitely spend all day there.

Touring other resorts is also fun!

As far as resort eating goes, my favorites are Whispering Canyon, Artist Point, Ohana, Kona, GF Cafe, Narcoossees, Boma, Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan, Yachtsman, and 1900 Park Fare.

As far as things to do, others have mentioned the boats on bay lake which is a must do for us. Disney quest is worth a visit if you have never been there. Taking a walk from WL to Ft. Wilderness is always nice as well. Renting bikes on the Boardwalk can be fun. Resort hopping is also a good idea. You could also do the DVC presentation if you were so inclined. :)

If the weather is warm enough for your trip, and you're renting a car, how about a day trip over to Cocoa Beach or up to New Smyrna Beach? Those are two of our favorite beaches on the east cast of Florida, and make a nice contrast to the theme parks.

This is a great start and some great ideas!!

We will be there for 8 nights - so I think we'll eat - 4 at the resorts and then Yachtsmen and GF Cafe are two more.

I was thinking Boma and Ohana for the other two.

Are those similar food types?? :slurp:

Also, I love the idea of a spa day and lounging at the pool. And I believe we get a free round of mini golf right? I think we are going to stay at the World, rather then heading out to see Orlando and the other areas near by.

I tend to over book things and I don't want to do that this time. But both my DH and I aren't big on just laying by a pool.

Thanks for the great tips! Please keep them coming!!!
