What to do When you Leave WDW

Besides starting the countdown for the next trip, usually involves me looking like a two year old, trashing around on the floor yelling, NO I DON'T WANNA GO! :D

We need time for things to happen.
directly after doing Airline check in in the lobby I stomp out toward the parking lot and my waiting rental car...Give the finger to all the a-holes coming off the DME to start their vacation. give the finger to all the people waiting to get on the buses to the parks...
Stomp out to our rental car skreech my tires out of the parking lot......
give the finger to everybody coming into the resort....
you get the idea.

I actually shed a couple of tears on the DME to the airport...the first thing that got me was when they played Wishes...then they played the M I C K E Y M O U S E song where they sing about saying good-bye.

Usually we have an earlier flight so we just don't turn around. Though I cry when I say goodbye to the Mickey electric towers.

This is our first time driving the 20 hours somi don't know what I'm going to do. It might be harder since I don't have to get on a plane.

My first day park is MK, and start with a train ride around the park. My last day park is again MK and end with a slow walk down main street and with another train ride around the park to say good-by...

I guess I get a bit sad a day or two before the last vacation day. But I do look forward to coming home.

I do a lot of thinking when I'm on vacation, plus WDW inspires me to make my life better. I'm usually a bit excited to try out some new things when I get back.

Magic Kingdom is our last park. I go to the Cinderella Wishing Well which is situated to the side of the castle. I drop a few coins into the wishing well while I make a wish that all will be well through the year so I can return to WDW the next year. So far it's been working pretty good for me.

When I get to my hotel I have an inner chuckle at the people doing the "walk of shame"(leaving). Then I realize on my last day...its me doing the walk of shame with those bags in tow. On my last day I go to Earl of Sandwich to get a bite. I'll also take a long look at the icon of whatever park I'm in. The Hat doesnt do it for me though. I try to avoid the monorail as I hate hearing, "if this concludes your visit to the Walt Disney World resort......" That always gets me. I then remember I'm a DVC member and I'll be back within six months.

I almost always end our trips by taking the ferry back to the parking lot. As if you are down in the dumps enough you have to pass that Mickey sign on the way out that says "See you real soon!" While I am in the park I do what most 8 year olds do, I always promise that "this is the last ride and then we'll go home". Of course that is never the case. The irony is I am 32 years old. Our trip to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago presented me with this problem. On our "way out" we walked through Fantasyland again and I did about 4 more of the dark rides. I couldn't leave to be honest.

In 2007 we pulled away in the ME from the Poly. It was our kids first trip. My 10 year old son looked out the window and had tears running down his face. It broke my husband's heart. Mine was already broken.

He has been back twice since then and will go again next June. He has decided that he wants a career with Disney at the age of 15. It made quite an impression.

Start thinking about the next trip! When I first get home from a trip, I find myself watching more Disney movies & having "Disney Days" where I do something Disney oriented until I get back into my routine.
