I, the perennial worrywart, have recently come up with a new problem. I'm going in July, and I was wondering:

a) If it rains alot during July

b) What to do if it rains

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

When it rains in the afternoon in July, then 1. get wet and then 2. dry out.

I remember watching the MK parade once while it rained.
Tigger waved at all of us sitting there like dedicted fans watching him and the others.

It will rain almost every day in July. Unless a system is moving through, you will likely only have to deal with the mid-afternoon shower (or downpour) that will go less than an hour. Bring a poncho (and if you're bringing a car, load up an extra pair of socks and shoes) and you'll be fine. The rain is a blessing in July. It'll take some of the Hell out of the heat and will send people scampering for their hotels.

It can't rain all the time...
As others have said usually it only rains for 1 to 2 hours so just bring a poncho, quick drying clothes and a little patience and you should be fine.
It rained two days of my trip this week and my group and I just strolled into a restaurant; ordered a coffee or other drinks a snack and just waited the worst of it out. You will find it to be a blessing as did I, with the GO GO GO pace of the parks and the Heat; the rain will cause you to slow down and relax for a little, take a breather and cool off. Don't stress the time, just take it in and chill it will reside.

It does rain, but do not worry. There are positives.
First, bring ponchos or buy one.
The positive in this is that if it rains for a bit, people will go back to the hotels...this way, crowds lighten and you get shorter waits.
PLUS, the rain cools off the hot Florida weather.
Go, bring rain gear, and have a magical trip!!!

Even if it rains, you'll have fun! I was down there last month when it was raining practically all day every day, and my bf and I had a blast. We brought cheapy ponchos from home that were lighter and offered better protection from the rain (no snap-up sides) than the Disney ones, and we took it in stride. We also made a point of getting a lot done when it wasn't raining or was just raining lightly, that way we could take our time and relax when the rain picked up.

So, even though you probably won't have that kind of problem in July, just know that even all-day rain won't ruin your trip if you don't let it!

It rained a lot when I was there end of May. Anyway I brought cheap disposable ponchos with me each day. We ended up needing them at some point every day we were there, it was easy to pack up after each use and keep attatched to our backpacks, then throw them out at the end of the day and bring a new pack with us each morning (rather than drying them out over night). Try to do all the outdoor rides in the morning, less lines AND less risk of shutdown when it's dry. I was told if you hear thunder, outdoor rides must shut down...which is why I missed expedition everest last trip =(.

Also yes wear clothes that dry quickly..mainly shorts and shoes. Shirt will be under poncho so you'll be okay. But I wore board shorts, which was nice cus cargo shorts get heavy when they are wet, and feel gross too.

As for shoes...I gave in and bought crocs. It was nice having something like a shoe that you could run through water and basically not give a darn. You can also wear Zories (what we Guamanians call "flip flops" but doesnt zories sound less wussy?!?), and i must also say the croc zories/flip flops are extremely comfy (even compared to my $60-100/pair Olukais).

For us the 1st time we went in 2005, we were told to take ponchos did not listen & learned fast on day 2, so we sucked it up and purchased them. From every yr on we have learned and each one of us carries a small back pack and puts it in there.

We also learned not to wear sneakers, takes to long to dry out and by the end of the night the feet are on fire, so we not where flip flops.

We are theme park commandos, what works for us is to be at the park for the day at opening. Go through lunch into early afternoon. About 2 o'clock head back to the hotel for a break. Rain ensues. After the rain, return to the same or different park for a fine evening.
