im in a qaundry!
we land from gatwick at orlando airport about 3.30 pm, probably get to all stars resort about 5.30? by the time we get our bags and go through immigration:(. would you think thats about right. 2 hours? then check in at resort .
we are using dme so then we thought we would just go to a park, as we have fourteen day ticket and thats the first day! which park would you go to for a couple of hours? magic kingdom is open till 10pm, and studios is open till 10 with extra magic hours. i know theres no end of day show at studios, but we could do some of the bigger rides. but magic kingdom has the wishes, and we could see spectromagic.
not sure what to do....help.

You get the same flight that we do and we always went to MK as soon as we had dumped our bags, had a shower and got changed. We were usually in the parks for about 6-6.30 but then we had a car. But we always went to MK, grabbed some food (I hate plane food so I'm usually hungry by this point!) and then watch Spectro and Wishes. And we end the holiday the same way - with Spectro & Wishes!

Although the past couple of visits, DH has insisted that we go to DtD instead. :(

First day

If I were going to have a long 1st day (like yours), I would book dinner at Whispering Canyon :slurp:, take the bus from your resort over to Magic Kingdom, transfer to the water launch to Wilderness Lodge, enjoy dinner and then take the water launch back to Magic Kingdom for Spectromagic and Wishes.

Speaking from tradition here, and especially if the day you arrive is your 'first day' on your ticket, I would go to MK and leizure around, hit a few must rides like pirates, then watch SpectroMagic and Wishes. I can't think of a better place to start my visit than in the MK at night!

We seem to always start out in the MK. Usually just see parade(s) and Wishes. If we happen upon a short wait at one of our favorite attractions, we usually ride it but for the most part we just enjoy the "we're here" moment!!!

thanks all, we are going to go to the magic kingdom, and just relax, have a stroll, watch wishes and spectromagic, if we can, have a light meal and enjoy being there. so if you see two guys sat on a bench in mainstreet with the biggest smiles its us!

That sounds good, especially because you have a full two weeks.

My family tradition was to always go to MGM (and ride ToT and Rockin Roller Coaster) or Epcot (ride Test Track and visit the World Showcase) on the first night.

My fam ususally goes to DTD the first night, every other trip we try to see La Nouba (DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!) and we eat somewhere nice, although you are arriving sort of late, that might be difficult. Then the next day we usually do Magic Kingdom.

This is exactly what we do too. After DTD, try to get a good night's sleep and hit the ground running the first full day in Magic Kingdom! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

:shrug:How did you get a 14 day ticket? the only one that is offered beyond a 10 day ticket is a season pass.As i understand it the 10 day ticket is good over a period of 14 days. If i'm wrong please let me know.

When I arrive, we usuallt sit down at one of thir nicer restaurants and enjoy the rest of the day. Then we hit the parks the next day, usually in a specific order, MK, E, HS, AK. Im going during the end of March for a week (75 trip!!!) and staying at Saratoga Springs so we'll eat at the Turf Club and enjoy the resort on the first night!

Most people coming from the UK come for two weeks and we can buy an ultimate ticket for 14/21 days which covers all wdw parks ,water parks ,disney quest, as often as you like this costs around £200 depending where you buy it.great if you're just doing disney. On our first evening we dont even try to do anything, just unpack look around resort, eat and bed the kids are usually shattered .
