What the heck are some people wearing?

I think that's going a bit far as nobody deserves to be sexualized. However, I don't think that there should be any surprise or indignation on the part of the person wearing the revealing clothing when people take notice. I can only speak for myself, but I'm a heterosexual male who isn't quite dead yet. If a female whom I would normally otherwise find attractive is displaying body parts that, again, are attractive to me, I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that I won't at least glance. I'm not going to be a total creeper and stare or take pictures, but I'm only human. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, if you don't want people to look at you, you probably shouldn't hang out a neon sign saying, "Here are my jubblies!" in a public place. If we ever reach a point whereby the unclothed human body isn't considered a factor in attraction, then, by all means, wear what you like. Such a drastic societal change isn't going to happen in the next few years, though, and those who choose to bare their bodies in public have to expect a certain amount of looks and discomfort from those around them. Again, as adults with free will, we must be accountable for our actions and nobody has a right to take any type of clothing (or lack thereof) as a license to harass or assault another human being. If there are a pair of female mammalian protuberances on display in a public place, though, I'm not going to pretend that they don't exist and talk about the weather.

Exactly, they are not dressed like that because they don't want attention they are dressed like that because they do want attention and they do want people to notice, and I'm sure most parents don't wish to have to explain Mickey "pasties" to their 4 year old. And there is no reason to dress like that unless you want it displayed.

My park attire is always Duluth Trading firehose.. whether it's shorts or pants, and they are as cargo as they come outside of BDUs and a molle vest. When I want to dress up it's a utilikilt.. also with cargo pockets.

I have no idea what people's issues with cargos is.. they are neither revealing nor profane. I can only imagine it's sour grapes from someone trying to juggle a purse or satchel, water bottle, phone, sunblock, packet of tissues, bag of candy to keep the kids quiet, pen, autograph book, digital camera, etc etc. All of which (and more) fit neatly in my pockets and eliminate the need to try to stop or hold them on rides.
I don't see any problem with cargos, sweats, whatever as long as all private parts are covered and there is no adult subject material on shirts than i say i'ts your business and no one else's. I personally don't understand the slobs when you are getting your picture taken all day , but t each their own, just remember there are a lot of kids and please dress with them in mind.

With this topic, I can totally understand the frustration that a lot of females feel regarding the double standard that exists for men and women when it comes to our bodies and the display, thereof.
I'm sorry, that's bull. If a man was walking around Epcot with his buttcheeks out, I would be just as much of a problem as when women do it. That's not a double standard. The STANDARD is the same, however men aren't the ones who tend to violate it.

Why is it any different? They're both hot environments where people are entitled to dress to feel comfy. Booty shorts and a crop top really is not that offensive unless you're trying to make it so. It's the norm here in the UK, girls can wear what they want in the summer and most of the time not get snotty comments from people, or be objectified.
"People are entitled" says the millennial.

Nobody is entitled to what goes on in my brain. You can dress however you want and I can judge you accordingly. Your entitlement does not extend to my thoughts and feelings.

entitled (adj) believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

Despite the rumor, that's not how life works on planet Earth.

How many men do you see walking around in hot weather with their shirts off and bare chests showing as opposed to women? The standard is not the same.

The standard is exactly the same. We don't display our sex organs in public. That's true for men and women. The biological fact that women have sex organs on their torso doesn't change the consistent standard.

Do you really think people only dress like that because they want attention and people to notice them? That weather or personal comfort can't be why?

There's a large intersection of "appropriate" and "comfortable in the heat." Nobody is talking about that. We're talking about people who go way beyond common decency and good taste. Nobody is suggesting that anyone be forced to cover their whole bodies, though I hear that kind of thing is catching on in the UK, which @Hayley In Wonderland tells us is the greatest place ever.

******* aren’t sex organs. You can look it up if you don’t believe me.
Reproductive organs if you like the term better.

Eleven major systems of the human body:

1. Circulatory
2. Digestive
3. Endocrine
4. Exocrine
5. Lymphatic
6. Muscular
7. Nervous
8. Urinary
9. Reproductive
10. Respiratory
11. Skeletal

The nosedive continues. Do we really need to bring politics and religion into this? Your whole argument regarding dress is that there’s a time and a place; the same goes for the topics discussed here. If you really want to go the way of the “Europe under siege” narrative, take it to the politics forum.

I really think at this point the thread should just be locked...we've moved so far away from discussion and people are saying some really morally questionable things (or at least they were earlier).

Wearing less clothes and exposing your skin to the radiation of the sun does not help you to feel cooler. Just saying.
