What Still Exists From EPCOT Center?

I would like to know what still exists from EPCOT Center. Whether it be in plain sight or backstage. To give you some examples... the Communicore carpet (gone now) and the balcony and model used for Backstage Magic.

I plan on taking pictures of such areas when I'm down there for the 25th anniversary.

They dropped the "Center" from Epcot in 1994. In 1994 it was called "Epcot '94", then "Epcot '95." Why, I don't know, but they did. After that bizarre change, it just became Epcot.

So....do you mean attractions that were around when it was Epcot Center? Or are you looking for stuff that was there in 1982, when the gates opened for the first time?

Martin!!!! He is the person to tell you it all. There is still a car in the queue for Test Track from World of Motion. The UoE dinos are still the same, well except the paint jobs.

Everything EPCOT Center. Basically anything that was identifiable with the Center. It could be a small detail or a huge one, I'm looking for anything.

The old logo is right under our feet for the October 1st meet.

There's a bunch of old Journey Into Imagination props in the new ride's queue.

Some costumes still have the old logo on it.

If you look at the world showcase everything you see on the outside is largely the same

Living With the Land is from the original EPCOT Center.

Most of the exteriors of the buildings in FW are the same as they were originally.

Living With the Land is from the original EPCOT Center.

The greenhouses yes, ride system yes, but the beginning of the ride and the name have changed. It was originally Listen to the Land.


As for what's left...

The logo the for The Land can still be seen on the covers to the Fastpass machines. (LWTL still has Fastpass, doesn't it?)
Odessey of course, even if it is closed.
The JII logo is somewhere on the sign for the Figment meet and greet (Didn't that close up?)
The blue tile water fountains in FW.

That's all I can think of for the time being.

Not sure if they were there in '82, but there are pictures of me and my brother playing with them from '86.

For some reason, even more than Spaceship Earth, those fountains take me back to my first WDW trip...gosh, I'm getting a bit misty

Apart from the obvious buildings and structures that remain, there are the SSE ascent sets (in the main), UoE Dinorama (though not nearly as impressive) and the ride systems for SSE, UoE, JII (1983 vintage, though rebuilt in 1999) and Living with the Land. Not sure about El Rio yet. I plan on a big project to document CCore/Innoventions whilst I`m in the park (Sorry, Michelle) and I`ll also add most of the entrance plaza, apart from cosmetics and LAL, is still how is appeared in 1982. I`d say France is probably the pavilion that has changed the least. And maybe the UK, though we had diddly squat to begin with since they mothballed the dinner show.

Ironically, the huge logo in the pavement, south of the fountain, was added in 1994 - the year EPCOT Center became Epcot `94. Go figure!

I'm gonna start on the entrance and work my way as best as I can around the park.

As you enter the park, the architecture of the monorail, guest relations, ticket booths, flower beds, planters, trees, pavement etc, almost all of that is original from 1982, including some of the various singage.

Once you get into the park's entrance, the two flower beds on the outside most paths are also original as well as their surrounding architecture.

Spaceship Earth of course, as well as the mirror column.

The Earth Station, now that its project tomorrow...the only thing really left from earth station is that project tomorrow once again has alot of space and openess in it, something only earth station once had.

The Communicore Buildings are that ugly tan, pinkish color, with many of the windows blocked out with posters. However the exterior of Innoventions West still has the original lamps on the side of the building.

The Seas was from 1986 so that doesn't count. Nothing really left from Imagination except the basic look of the building, the jumping fountains and lamposts. The Land still had the baloons, though they were repainted, and it also has the mosaic tiles, and dedication plauqe called "symbiosis". Parts of living with the land, and the circle of life theatre and queue area are original from 1982 if memory serves me correct.

The circular fountains of future world west are original as well.

On future world east....wonders of life doesn't count, nor does mission:space, the energy pavilion has the original theatre cars, mosaic lobby mural, fountains outside it, etc.

Test Track....the car from world of motion was in the turn of the 20th century...it was the guy using the hand crank to start the car.

The Transcenter...or inside track....some of the chrome and silver is leftover from the Transcenter as well as come of the platforms used to showcase the cars.

The Odyssey is original from 1982.

Much of World Showcase is original from 1982 except for Norway and Morocco. You can still see Impressions de France, another 1982 original.

It's a light blue car. One of the first cars you see when entering the queue. It was in the 20th century of transporation scene...it had a guy cranking the motor.
