DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

I like Bob's Burgers, but I don't think that belongs in Disney World either.

If Disney really wants to do show off that they own FOX by shoehorning one of their IPs into the parks, why not retheme Dino-Rama to Ice Age?

Because God hates me and hates good ideas.

Serious Answer: it's probably the same reason why Rio didn't make the cut for Tropical Americas and fitting the conservation themes of DAK to a T, I don't see them in a rush to include Blue Sky Studios stuff as the studio closed immediately after the purchase (yes I know about Ice Age 5 happening). They've been much more aggressive in integrating Simpsons apart of the Disney brand.

Man, I get the impetus behind Simpsons, but jeez, one day I'd like to see an honest to god modern, large-scale attempt at a Marvel land that isn't Avengers Campus. 60s era New York with Alex Ross-inspired theming would be such an easy layup. Wonder if Universal will ever let that cash cow go, though maybe it's for the best that it doesn't happen in the near future, so we don't just get a clone of Campus.

I want another Marvel Comics land, yeah. I don't trust modern Disney with the task of doing Marvel in Florida right now. "it's an MCU land not a marvel comics land" would be their main reason why it'd be a downgrade from MSHI.

Simpsons meanwhile, they'd have to put effort into making it stand out. And I think they can do it.

so are you hearing this as well? That a Simpsons land is coming the DHS at Animation Courtyard?

Avenger’s Campus isn’t great. But I think they could do a good land. We’ve seen them pull off individual good Marvel rides.

I’d rather that than it just continue to be stagnant as it is on the East Coast (and Spider-Man is a top 5 ride all time for me).

I've been hearing Simpsons for a hot minute as an option. For awhile last year I was hearing it was Simpsons or Zootopia, but it seems like other people I talk to and share notes with are saying it's likely panning out to be Simpsons.

I'm... personally reserved. AC is the biggest waste of space/lucrative expansion plot DHS has, and I don't entirely buy into the fact they'll settle on giving it to Simpsons.

Simpsons has a long legacy, lots of iconic moments, set pieces, but the issue is what we have now, similar to Muppets.

We have the iconic characters and setting still, but the voices are off, the writing isn't as sharp, it's "Wrong Sounding Simpsons", much like "Wrong Sounding Muppets".

I can buy into them having active discussion about Simpsons taking the AC plot, but I don't entirely buy into it being the final choice they'll settle with. But if Len is anything to go by, they've obviously hit a point where a concept is settled....

I just hope to spice it up, we get "Animation Domination Courtyard" at least.... The Bob's Burger QS idea is genius and Family Guy, despite an extremely edgy tone, is popular with the Gen Z audience that the recent WDW wave of announcements is trying to court.

We've seen them pull of good rides for Guardians of the Galaxy, but the Avengers offerings haven't sparked much for me to my disappointment. I'd rather Spider-Man at IOA continue to amaze than have something slapped together. I want a hypothetical Florida Marvel land be something completely unique.

That’s a fair take. We’ll see how Infinity Defense turns out.

If I felt like Universal could update their land I would actually prefer that, but it just being what it is now forever is sad too. I’d rather it go to Disney where there is a chance of something new and interesting being done with one of my favorite IP’s.

I feel like if Zootopia 2 does a billion the conversation will swing back that way. A Simpsons ride somewhere in the park…I guess if they have to. But please not an entire land.

With DHS getting Monsters Inc and a new RnRC version I would rather they take their time with AC and wait for the best option. In the meantime, why not a Bluey show where Disney Jr is and maybe a Simpons meet and greet in Launch Bay.

This has been my stance for awhile. Zootopia is going to end up with more at WDW than a show, like how Moana is getting more than the walk through.

Whatever happened to the Incredibles talk? I’d much rather that than any of the other options…
I'm probably in the minority here but, I don't see how you can make a land out of Incredibles? A part of a "Land of Heroes" next to Doctor Strange, The Rocketeer, and Big Hero 6 would be perfect, but I don't see how The Incredibles can carry a full land, especially with what AC could offer.

I think AC is suited best for a composite land, maybe retaining the name "Animation Courtyard", some sort of Toontown Lite? Some Simpsons there, a Incredibles there, a pinch of Bluey to the side, that'd cover all bases. But it'd have to be done right so it's not an incoherent mess.

Muppets has a popularity problem, not a quality problem. When Disney can be bothered to allow a Muppets project, it’s usually pretty good. Simpsons is quite the opposite.

It’s also worth noting that some Muppets “sound wrong” because their beloved performer passed away three decades ago. The Simpsons sound wrong because aging actors who don’t care at all anymore are being pushed past their endurance levels by a corporation desperate to milk every cent from a lifeless franchise. Neither is exactly happy, but at least there’s some dignity and integrity left in the Muppets - Simpsons is just ruining a brilliant legacy.

Of course by the time The Simpsons shows up in WDW it’s very likely all the voices will be AI.

I know, I know, Muppets 2012, Most Wanted, Electric Mayhem and Haunted Mansion are good, but they've definitely been slacking in terms of giving the Muppets and actual series to call home.
