DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

I am not going to lie, even Zootopia wouldn't really be a "killer announcement" to steal EU thunder. Disney wants to steal thunder on the opening of EU?

There's a certain SOMEONE in EPCOT that'd at least get the attention of theme park nuts if they teased it. Wouldn't do much for the GA so, go figure.

"They're not going to announce Figment outside of a D23 bombshell", you say, while believing this massive expansion plot will be announced on the opening day of EU.

There is no way Disney would ever do something as weak as try to announce something on the day Universal opens their new park. Disney has historically announced additions, replacements, and all new lands on their terms. When they're guaranteed the press cycle. After sitting on this, I do not believe they'll even tease what is going into AC on the opening date of EU, especially three months away from Destination D23, which would have them have the press cycle to themselves.

To me it seems like an animation courtyard replacement is being fast tracked but won't get any mention until Destination D23.

Some are suggesting it might be Marvel. If that was the case, wouldn't word have gotten out they got the rights back from Universal?
I don’t see why it would be so hard to keep a secret. As long as they don’t tell Tom holland it should be easy.

I would much rather it be Marvel than Zootopia. A Marvel land would bring balance to the attraction roster at DHS. Since the park is trackless rided out, the Infinity Defense ride system would be a breath of fresh air.
Marvel or a toon town would be my ideal choice. But realistically the toon town ship sailed after runaway railway replaced the great movie ride .

I can’t imagine Disney mentioning Animation Courtyard when Dinosaur, MuppetVision, Rockin, and the Rivers of America are all open. It makes no sense to me to say “here’s something ELSE we’re gonna do” when a lot of the other things they’re gonna do haven’t even started construction.
What if the week Epic opens they actually announce the closing date for Rivers of America, hiding the closure behind Universal's bigger theme park news? That or they'll upgrade the bus wrap news to a new skyliner wrap design

AC should be turned into ToonTown. Its crazy theres no toonTown in Florida. They could go nuts and make DL TT look tiny in comparison, thatd be timeless and really special imo. Then they could redo that terrible circus area in MK
They already bulldozed one ToonTown at WDW. I doubt they'd build another version.

They really have 2 options. 1) pick a more adult themed IP to keep DHS as the thrill park (Marvel, Simpsons, Alien, Planet of the apes, ect).

Or pull a frozen ever after in an effort to balance the park out and get more families (Zootopia, Coco, Tangled, Toontown, ect).

I'm assuming it will be a kid friendly IP.

A dark ride on the scale of Great Movie Ride focusing on the history of Disney animation. You board your cars and everything starts out black and white, you float along with Steamboat Willy, it moves on to Snow White with effects to showcase the Multiplane camera, (as it progresses, the colors get more and more vibrant) then it moves through the Renaissance days, all the way up through Pixar and beyond. Not trackless. Not omnimover. Do it along the lines of Spiderman to allow the feeling of speed, floating, flying, etc.

Would it ever happen? Nah.
But imagine the still pictures during concept and construction showing off scenes of their most beloved attractions.
