DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

40000 square foot DVC sales experience conservatively building on prior successes coming to the animation courtyard via virtual queue starting May 2027.

Mr. mysto has spoken.

I believe that ship sailed away with the Liberty Belle. So to speak.

A family friendly Coco boat ride would be a great and needed addition to the DHS lineup.
the problem with that is it just becomes more miscellany... Coco has nothing to do with DHS except that it was a film...
Their is one area of the WDW theme parks that is a perfect match for Coco, but they refuse to entertain the notion and do what it would take to make it happen...
but Coco in DHS is not a good match at all. Maybe another family-friendly boat ride...

I feel Coco could potentially be penned for the space currently being used for staging at MK for Cars/Villains. I can see it though.

Literally anything but a solo Incredibles land.

I can't find the posts... but I believe insiders were saying the MK, DHS, and AK were "fighting" over what IPs were going in what park.

MK: ended up getting Cars and Villains but almost got Coco, Encanto, and Moana
AK: ended up with Encanto, Indy, and zootopia, but almost got Moana (and zootpia in a different place). Apparently Coco was also a possibility for tropical Americas

DHS was apparently up for Cars and/or Villains... but clearly didn't get either of those. It got Monsters Inc. However, it looks like Moana and Coco were both almost planned for MK and AK. We also have a Coco ride coming to DCA... so costs could be shared.

So my bet is either Moana splash mountain ride... or Coco Land, complete with the DCA boat ride and flight of the alebrije

Here is a crude paint drawing showing FOP main show building (Flight of the alebrije), WDW pirates (boat ride), and the bone yard (a playground).

This would be a great addition to DHS because it would.
1) add a new LLSP for DHS to make money on
2) add a 0 height family high capacity ride
3) add a playground
4) add a new visual area that is different than any other area of the park.

Chance of this happening? 1%... seems too expensive haha.

FOP ride system and a shared development with DCA, and a playground would be a fantastic land. I'm a little worried it would overlap some with tropical americas though.

There’s a short-term plan. I think I said upthread that none of the big ideas I heard for long-term were compelling (e.g., a collection of stage shows of unrelated franchises). So a short-term approach gives them more time.
Short term plan for something at wdw temporarily” huh?

I'm honestly quite happy to hear this.

They did a nice job with short-term placemaking in "Muppets Courtyard." It was never going to last too long, but they nonetheless added a nice marquee to Muppet*Vision, themed up the Rizzo's and Gonzo's buildings, etc. (Obviously there were understandable mixed reactions to changing the fountain and removing the mural, though personally I liked the more subdued look of the area.)

The same could go for this area. Making it even a little bit interesting and even a little bit thematically cohesive would be a vast improvement - at least it might feel like a theme park land, or at minimum an environment one doesn't actively dislike being in!

Now if only they could do the same with Pixar Plaza, we'd really be on a roll...

It would be fairly simple to connect Pixar plaza to the other side of TSL and remove a dead end and ease congestion in the land. The way they build that giant berm all along the one side of SWGE really messed up the flow of the park
