What should be done in the Peter Pan refurb?...whenever it hopefully happens. =)

Peter Pan is one of the dark rides at WDW that almost always has the longest line. Its a classic ride, loved by many. But it has seen its share of use throughout the years and many on here in another thread about Peter Pan have already mentioned the need of a refurb.

So, what do you think should be done to the ride???

I would be happy with all new paint. But if we are talking new effects, I would want Disneyland's finale.

I seem to recall the track being rather noisy on my last trip. I'd be happy with some maintenance that would keep the ride system quieter. Also a boost to capacity wouldn't hurt to keep those lines down.

My family and I love this ride also! I can not think of anything that really needs to change with the exception of the queue line. I wish they could work out something with this line. It is very boring, nothing to look at and it wraps back and forth so much that it builds up a lot of heat! We rarely get in the regular line any more due to the use of FP, but last year we jumped in during EMH and had to wait a while and I am not sure what the hold up was because the line seemed shorter than usual.

For the attraction itself I would change very little. Clean it up, plus it a bit here and there and at most increase the size of the ride vehicle to increase capacity. Where this attraction really need help is in the queue. I would love to see it get a heavily themed queue akin to PotC or E:E. Of course the issue is where are you going to fit this heavily themed queue.

Here's what I think should be done:

1. Fix the fastpass and standby queue line, and the loading area so it's more organized and less hectic.

2. Give each pirate ship two seat rows to increase capacity.

3. Basic upgrades/new paint.

4. Update some of the lame effects like the moon shadows, tin foil volcano, etc. and give it a fiber optic pixie dust finale like at DL.

5. I know TDO would cringe at this, but give the ride some real animatronics rather than mannequins moving their heads. They don't have to be super advanced or anything. Just some figures that do more than move their heads.

One other thing that has bothered me is that at DL, they use the original voice actors for the character voices in the ride. But at WDW, they use immitation voices that sound nothing like the originals (escpecially captain hook). Why is this? Would it be so hard to use the same recordings DL has?

Personally for me just some new paint but to be honest I would love a nicer queue line. I would love to see it interactive somehow. Like having to find tink before she sprinkles pixie dust on your pirates ship.

Gotta agree with the majority here...a fresh coat of paint and a better queue would be my suggestions as well.

In terms of the ride itself, not sure that I would want anything to change as it is one of my favorites. Certainly the best Fantasyland ride at WDW.

Just another thought regarding the queue: I wish they could enclosed a portion as the guest gets closer to the load area so that your eyes have time to adjust properly so that you can see more of the detail inside the ride. This is also a problem at the HM if you go right in and onthe ride without a line - my eyes are still adjusting from the bright Florida sun as I go into the darkness of the attraction.

Just a thought and then you could do more in the enclosed space as far as creating interest/anticipation for the ride. You could even have Peter Pans shadow moving around in the queue. :shrug:
