What should a Disney fan look like?

During our recent trip to WDW (WL) I was asking myself this question after 3 experiences I had with others.
At CM for breakfast , afterwards I was approached by a gentleman from PR,
who commented that he & his wife had fun watching me enjoy myself during
breakfast.I asked why?. His reply was "you don't look like you would enjoy this type of thing"!
My wife laughed, by I was kinda stunned.
A couple of day's later at Spectromagic,2 other couples said that it was nice to see "someone such as yourself" enjoying the parade.
Lastly, during a Mary Poppins meet & greet,a young couple commented that it was "cool to see someone like you" taking pics & interacting with MP.
Ok, by now I am starting to develop a complex! What gives? Is there a special look that I don't know about? Or are people over 40 not supposed to have fun?

I'm over 40, a total goofball, and I enjoy WDW every single time I go. Are you a tall or tough looking guy? Maybe that's what they're considering?

Yeah i can relate, don't get a complex though. I'm 30, i'm 6 foot 3 inches tall, a total sports fanatic. I watch and play numerous sports. But i step in that place and i get transformed. Sometimes i too wonder if i look out of place, but don't sweat it

I think it is amazing though that grown folks like us ( I am a Mom over 40 w/ 2 kids) and I can tell you I probably enjoy Disney more than my kids. You do not need a bunch of items hanging off of you, to show you enjoy the magic that Disney has. It is the simple willingness to allow personality of our life and that is be in the moment & enjoy!

Stark raving mad fanboys with Mickey ears, EPCOT T-shirts, and a passion for spotting out infinitesimal details in everything.

:lookaroun

But most important of them all, the fact to enjoy & be yourself there. :)

Yes
I get the same stuff. Im 30, play hockey, baseball, wear crazy clothes...people dont see where it comes from...but its usually the people who never been to WDW who dont get it.

When your in WDW it shouldnt shock ANYONE youre there because it should be obvious to anyone there why someone else is loving life at that moment.

I love that..I have always wanted to just go to the grocery store at home with my Mickey Ears on to see the reaction because only in Orlando can you go to Olive Garden and eat with 10 or more adults eating with Goofy/Mickey/Minnie ears, hats etc. :ROFLOL:I think they might put me away tho... if I did it here :lookaroun
Our faces all show the little kid that still lives in us, other than that we come in many forms lol. I am 36 and as luvlifeinfl said I am sure I enjoy more than my kids do.

Seriously though, who cares what someone looks like at a Disney park?

See that is what I'm talkin about, of course we buy shirts, ballcaps, stickers, and other trinkets, but we buy the fun hats and only wear them in the parks, we get back home and throw them in the closet. I know I have brought my kids those character hats and now they are shoved them in the corner of there room.

We should be allowed to wear them to work, school, shopping, without having judgement passed.

I am 46 and my wife is 49. We go hand in hand into the park and have never been asked that question. Don't know why. But we are always talking to one another or looking in the stores or course going on the rides singing a few songs and at times love to get one of those big Cooking from the store on Main Street. Also look like two little kids after we had a funnel Cakes with powder sugar all over us and always laugh and smile with all the Disney Characters while dining. You see we are acting like kids and having to much fun to notice that were not acting like mature adults. Disney is a place to kick back, live enjoy life and family and just appreciate the place your in and let your imagination go wild, thats the magic that is talked about that a lot of people do not understand. Hoped this helped a bit.

I for one, am wearing my Mickey Mouse ear hat to work on Wednesday, since it's the day before we leave. No one there will think I'm weird. They know exactly what to expect from me, as I am goofy on a daily basis. Since I work in a high school, the students probably will be surprised, but hey, this is the lady who wears shamrocks on her head at St. Patricks day and bunny ears on Easter. Our kids are grown, and it doesn't look like they are having kids for us to spoil anytime soon, so we must take OURSELVES to Disney.
:ROFLOL::sohappy::) Just lovin life!!!

On my last trip, I saw a family on Main Street that did make me think, "Whatever made this family decide on Disney for a vacation?"

There was mom, dad & 3 kids, and I swear, they all looked like dad had just come in from plowing a corn field in Iowa and got in the car and drove to Florida. The guys all had on overalls and John Deere hats, mom was wearing her sensible shoes and house dress, carrying her pocketbook (no, it was not a purse), hair pulled back in a bun, just not looking like your average Disney tourist.

Now don't take this the wrong way. I live on a farm, we own 2 John Deere tractors, and I've shoveled more than my share of manure. This family just kind of made me go "Huh?" On a side note, they all looked like they were having fun!!

Hello and welcome to the boards: I to have many tats and find that some guests tend to have the same reaction however comma I also find that some are curious and want to hear stories of what they symbolize or what they are, how long they took and etc. etc. I think they secretly want them as well.
To the OP - The way I see it - It takes all types of people to make the world go around, so I don't think we can really pin point the quintessential look of the Disney Fan. Guess we are all just a bunch of Werido's of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and colors... Just makes it all the more worth while! :sohappy:
