What other franchises would work in Universal?

I'm really liking the idea of a classic horror section of the park....

But even if they couldn't go that route, at the very least set up something along the lines of the Great Movie Ride at DHS but make it horror movie themed

That was kinda what I was going for ... I think it'd be so fun if it started out like the Great Movie Ride with slow moving animatronics then the monsters "get loose" and it speeds up sort of like Spider-Man ...

Ideally, something like that would replace Fear Factor Live - they could theme the building well to match the London Waterfront from HP2.0 if they held it in a mansion. The only other major expansion slot is behind MIB/Simpsons/KidZone, but I would guess that some/most of that would be used in the upcoming KidZone expansion/refurbishment (if it's still on track) - it would be nice if they built a new building to show an upgraded BTTF attraction with access between MIB and The Simpsons though.

Of course, it would be better beside Beetlejuice or Universal Horror Make-Up Show, but that can't happen (short of moving the theatres), or removing the rides beside them (Disaster or Terminator, which should both stay in the park), so that would be unlikely (unless they would then use the old theatres for another show, so it would be a case of "building a new theatre" either way.

With Disney owning marvel now, it would also be nice to retheme the super hero area and maybe get ahold of DC comics (yeah I know six flags has the lead on any of that), but I had seen somewhere on the net once an old concept of Gotham City that would fit perfectly over there

Not to mention that Universal would do DC Comics light years better than anything in a Six Flags park.

Id love to see it!

Planet of the Apes would make a great SGE type attraction for Uni. It would be cheap to build and help increase the attraction count in the park.

Other franchises I think would work well,

How to Train Your Dragon (Sequel in 2014)
Croods
Van Helsing (Remake is coming;))
Fast and Furious (Two more sequels)
Grinch (Illumination is doing the new one) and Lorax (Sequel coming)
Love How to train your Dragon! My DS says , "It's the only series that doesn't suck after the second book (aside from HP of course :) )

There's a new show coming out on Cartoon Network this year plus everyone knows them, so it would fit.

I assume of course that there is still an existing relationship with Hannah-Barbera ... and these characters aren't used somewhere else.

I wonder too about the exclusivity of the Looney Tunes gang and Six Flags, they seem pretty intertwined. Outside of Mickey Mouse ... Bugs Bunny has to be the second most instantly recognizable cartoon character.
