We usually call him Matthew, it is really freaky when he comes up behind you at work and he said excuse me eeep! I am always "OMG it is the monorail voice" And yes he is a manager at DCL.

I also heard the new recording this weekend. I knew right when we started moving that it wasn't the same ol "monorail guy" that we love to listen to. I kind of thought that it was just temporary until the holiday season was over though. You know, to promote the christmas events going on in all four parks for the holidays. He talks about Epcot's Holidays around the world, MGM's Osbourne Lights, AK's Jammin Jingle Parade, and Mickey's Very Merry.... Once the holidays are over, I expect our "monorail guy" to come back....and minus one annoying STITCH!! Let's keep our fingers crossed anyway!!

Did not hear it, however they were performing break tests on the Monorails while i was on-board. THAT WAS AN EXPERIANCE! Like Test Track for Trains! lol :lol:

I had an experience on the monorail a couple of years during an E-Ride night. My g/f (at the time) and I got on the monorail after leaving MK to head back to our room at the Poly. The monorail stopped off at the TTC (usual stop), but they powered down the train. We were sitting in the car wondering what was going on. So, I saw a technician with a toolkit approach the train. I knocked on the window and was like, "Umm.. Hello?!??!?" The technician said, "It'll be about 30 mins before the train is powered up again and we'll be on our way."

What do they do with the monorail when they power it down for that amount of time? Are they checking for electrical shorts?

It was an experience....

I finally heard the new monorail voice. I don't care for it. Even though I knew it was coming I still made a stinky face when I heard it. You think they could have updated the narration with the original guy. Oh well, it's done.
