Well...

Decided to have a nice evening at the MK last night, and snagged a reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe to boot. It was a nice day, not too busy, and a nice temperature. Anyway...

When my friend and I got on the monorail, I almost had a heart attack! The monorail narration was changed. Mind you, the script was not changed, but a new guy does the bulk of the narration now that he sounds bored and insincere. It's very bad. He even goes so far as to plug Mickey's Very Merry and SGE (tasteless) on your way from the Floridian to the MK.

It's clearly meant to be switched out often, with plenty of space left to tell you all about what sort of new stuff is on the loop. But I walked off the monorail both times with a very bad taste in my mouth. The new voice is terrible.

Anybody else heard this?

Didn't hear this. . . if anyone can take a recording (camera, microphone, anything) and post it, that would be wonderful. . .
Is it possible to get an audio recording from a camera?  :hammer:

Only kidding, I'm sure you meant video camera.

It could have been the driver announcing it from the cockpit. you never know.

true............. did it sound prerecorded, or did you hear even pauses between sentences and maybe an occasional "umm" or "huh"

* do not let mind enter gutter*

Well I certainly hope they haven't replaced "Monorail Guy". :)

That voice is as much Disney World to me as the Big Cheese himself.

No, it was def. prerecorded. It was very precise and I rode the rail twice around to make sure. There was also no audible hiss or "ding" sound as the transmission started.

So yeah, "Monorail Guy" is gone. For no good reason, either -- the new version is similar, but different *every* *way* *possible*. It's very sad, actually.

Actually your probably right. There are some digital still cameras that can record short streaming videos with audio. :D

Our digital can, but im not sure how long it can. Last year we filmed the new years countdown from our camera, both picture and audio.

I hope they didnt change the monorail guy!! His voice IS disney!!! nooooo

When we rode the monorail from the TTC to MK, the spiel was the same, and my family and I cracked up at the "mantenganse alejado..." because my mom has it on her laptop and hears it often.

If I can record the spiel this weekend, I will. We just got a new camera today that has all that cool audio and video stuff. I can't wait to start playing with it .

Mr. Jack Wagner = "monorial guy"

I believe he just did the older ones. I could be wrong, but I only remember him being the voice of the old Disneyland and old WDW monorails only.
