What do you think needs to be done to fix up Tomorrowland??

Once you are off the "Avenue of the Planets" it is back to Tomorrowland prior to the huge renovations done back in the mid 1990's. :dazzle:

Many think that the area occupied by the speedway can be used for something better. What should it be used for, if there is no speedway renovation in the future??

What about other "dead" space in the vicinity of Tomorrowland, what new experiences can be added??

We all know that Stitch's Great Escape is coming next year but besides that are there any improvements that need to be done to this land besides that?? :veryconfu

I am very interested in opinions so if you have any good ideas, post them!! :slurp: Thanks...

NOTE: Sorry I forgot to enable the option to select more than one answer on the poll. Please select the answer of priority to you and post the other if you would like...

Don't forget, Tomorrowland is still a hugely populated area!

If I could get rid of one attraction, it would be speedway. The area is too. . . unTomorrowland. If the area needs a new thrill ride, place it there, I guess. Otherwise, I would theme it better.

CoP needs its own area music and a more attracting sign..perhaps flags. In other words, it's hidden.

And don't forget Stitch is coming.

I just don't want to see anymore characters after Stitch. From here on out, I want to see original characters, like Sonny, Timekeeper, SIR, Skippy, 9-Eye, CoP cast.

Speedway is dull. If it just appeals to little kids, then shrink it and use the space for something better.

Also open everything – keeping COP and Timekeeper shut does not help. COP could do with an update, but does not need gutting.

I would not want to see Space Mountain started from scratch, but some new effects and in-ride music may help spruce it up a little.

for my pal Jenny who has to work it... I would get rid of speedway and make another airconditioned attraction...I'll let the imagineers decide what...

Hmmm...

Do SOMETHING with the speedway.. it looks to junky to be a disney attraction...

Do Space Mountain like the new California version with new theming, music, paint, props, etc.

Get rid of Timekeeper, and maybe they can change it into a mickey themed ride (like Philharmagic) maybe called "Mickey's Time Travlers" or you know, something along that line, but make it like a simulator instead of circlevision, that way MK can have a simulator ride...

I agree with the making CoP more "noticible" to park guests. AND! Keep it open for ever, and not close it seasonally when Stitch comes, CoP is a classic.. and I think it should stay open.

Maybe re-furb the arcade outside of Space Mountain? Or actually, they should add some more shops to TL. Or work on the ones they already have, because they dont have that great of merchandise anywho.

I don't think there's room AT ALL for a simulator attraction. And PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE no more characters!

speedway

When we took the 7 hr. tour (Discovery Magic) we were even told by the guide that the speedway is the one thing Disney wants to get rid of. It's a waste of space, its not a people mover, and there is polution from the fumes. They aren't happy with it either. I also think they should move COP because that really doesn't fit in to tomorrowland any more unless they update that last scene. If not, put COP into Epcot or something else. It just doesn't fit in anymore. With the removal of those two items, you would have a lot of space to put two futuristic attractions!!! They were going to put time racers in SE why don't they move that to Tomorrowland, to me that would fit in there nicely and just fix up SE. Also, they had mentioned about removing Speedway, Mickeys Toon Town and 20,000 Leagues and make a totally different land with all that empty space, they could do it. I'm just telling you what we were told. Again, just ideas they had, doesnt' make it so. I thought it was a great idea, what do you think?

Remember - Time Racers is the POST-SHOW to Spaceship Earth. So no, it would only replace the global neighborhood.

Oo maybe move Timekeeper to Innoventions...that's interesting.

I have an idear. . . Place CoP right where Speedway is. . . then take Galaxy Palace, Skyway, Arcade, and make a giant new attraction.

Think about it - they can device a way to make the carousel run on a new style...without 'sinking' or costing as much. I'm sure there's a way...question is, do you think that spot would be good for it? Perhaps have an additional attraction more family-based take place there also, which could also increase attendance.

Just a thought. :)

They're doing stuff now that just appeals to little kids? We gotta put a stop to that. Next thing you know they will have people dressing up in Mickey and Minnie costumes, wandering through the parks, and even basing rides on characters that kids love.

    That's so funny!!! People grow up! Disney is for kids before it is for adults.... And thrills are coming from all over: Stunt show, EE, Soarin' and hopefully more:D ....

Well, I think first and foremost Space Mountain needs to be entirely gutted out. Then destroy the arcade (A video-game arcade. What in the world was Disney thinking?). After that's done it's time to close the Speedway and destroy it (I would pay to watch that). After that's done, we'll have all the land from the Speedway as well as the arcade. Space Mountain then is made to be just like the Disneyland Paris version. After that's done the Aquatopia is built on some of the Speedway land, and enough land is left to build a smaller-scaled attraction. Next up we're going to close down Buzz Lightyear for some time as we actually put some AAs in there and also replacements of all vehicles! Then after that's done we'll destroy the Galaxy Place Theatre and sadly take the Carousel of Progress out and move it to EPCOT. In CoP's place we'll have an indoor version of The Flying Saucers. Next up we're going to build up in the area of the former Galaxy Place Theatre and build a time-travel based simulator ride (maybe the Timekeeper will be our guide). Then it's off to the Metropolis Science Center where we'll take out TK (he'll be replaced at the simulator attraction) and we'll add a TRON attraction. A couple gift shops can be in place since TL has only two main ones. And last but not least on the land left from the Speedway, a new 3D attraction will be built. After that's all done, it'll be time to re-do the entire theming of Tomorrowland. A TTA overhaul may be needed as well.

Where to start...

First, eliminate Speedway. It has to go. Aquatopia would be cool there, if they could manage the logistics of it.

Second, keep CoP and Timekeeper open year-round. That's easy.

Third, put something in the theatre. It looks pretty nice, but needs a Tomorrowland show.

Fourth, ah, Space Mountain. Gut it. Replace the track with a longer version of Paris'. Use the old Skyway building as queue and launch. Paint the darn thing...silver and blue, maybe?

Five, cover part of Avenue of the Planets with one of those LED ceilings like Fremont St. in vegas. That would allow images of planets and spacecraft to fly across the sky.

Good ideas! I love your sense of conservation, also. Granted, this might take several years.

Auquatopia would probably fit in the old 20K site then in Tomorrowland.. wouldn't you think? All they really have to do is install it, where if it were to be in TL they'd have to build a whole new lagoon or something..

As for the Fremont St. things.. that would rock!! But, I dont think it would look quite right during the day.. maybe they could make them come out of the rooftops at night and go over the walkways... Im sure they could figure out a way to do that...

IMO, the Speedway is the land's weekest link now. Something should be done with it. Perhaps not gutting it out and putting something completly different, but some improvements could be made. Add more theming and make it more futuristic to tie it in with the actual theme of the land, adding in plenty of witty show scenes and jokes to keep parents and adults amused, as well as perhaps change out the cars to more environmentally friendly ones. I would hate to see this ride go since it's such a popular one with kids (it use to be one of my favorites when I was one), but I have to agree they need to do something to improve the qualty of it so it can be enjoyed by everyone.

*Shudder* I would be very upset if they put Aquatopia into that lagoon. It doesn't fit in at all with Fantasyland (neither did 20K Legues, but that's another story). Unless they changed the theming of the attraction to Little Mermaid or another sort of Fantasy theme, I would not want to see this attraction there.

I really don't know, maybe a new pavillion about how we've progressed could be built. Another thing that could be done is putting it in one of the Innoventions buildings if it'll fit.
