I don't think it will fit in Innoventions...nor will it fit anywhere else, unless you replace Wonders of Life :)( ) - but both sides of the Land are taken.

They're doing stuff now that just appeals to little kids? We gotta put a stop to that. Next thing you know they will have people dressing up in Mickey and Minnie costumes, wandering through the parks, and even basing rides on characters that kids love.

OK, I’ll expand on what I meant by this:

Everyone says that Speedway should be ditched. Personally I would not mourn it’s passing.. However it apparently enthrals kids. Most kiddie rides do not take up much real estate (Dumbo for example), whereas Speedway wastes a lot of land.

Shortening the track would keep the ride there for kids to still enjoy and free up a lot of area for something new to appeal to everyone.

Speedway

This is a total waste of time and money. Too much pollution, too long a wait and kids can do without it. They could easily put another attraction in there that would please children. Take it out and put something in their that is pleasing to everyone!

I'm sorry, but I like TL as it is. I guess I just dislike change, mainly because when Disney decides to change something, chances are it's for the worst. My feeling is if they want new and more exciting attractions, they have plenty of land left to build on, so open up a "thrill park" to compete with IOA. Don't tear down classic attractions and throw up some thrill ride in its place. Most of you feel the speedway is trash, but it has been there forever. And I happen to ride it every time I go down. When I think of Tomorrow land, it's one of the first things I think of. If you get rid of all the kid rides, what are they going to ride on? What's next... the teacups... SW... dumbo?

The thing about the speedway is that it's duplicated at most other theme parks I've been to. I agree to ditch the speedway and the arcade (one of the things I love about Disney is that once you've paid you don't have to keep coming up with money for activities - not including shopping or eating of course!) But then I'm stuck with what to do. So much of what could go in Tomorrowland could also go in Innoventions or elsewhere in Future World.

I'm facing my first trip with a preschooler in two weeks so this time around I'm noticing what rides there are that really appeal to all ages, and it sure seems like most of the focus lately is on thrill rides for older kids/adults. As an example, I love Peter Pan's Flight and hope that Disney will continue developing attractions around the movies and characters we love. I know there are lots of people mourning the loss of AE but that one definitely excludes a large portion of Disney's guests, and I for one am hoping that the new Stitch incarnation makes it more family friendly.

You know, I've said it before, but Adventureland is in need of an overhaul, more than Tomorrowland. Take out the Indy Speedway, perhaps extend ToonTown to include some worthwile rides, and add an Indiana Jones themed mountian attraction (shaped like a volcano) in Adventureland.

Although I do agree CoP belongs in Epcot, especially now that Horizions isn't there. I don't know where it would be built, though.

I wouldn't ditch the Speedway, just completely re-theme it. Maybe attempt to make them look like George Jetson type vehicles and most importantly, convert them to electric. They'd be nice and quite that way. Heck, even add the Jetsons type sound effects to them. But don't get rid of them, there are way too many young kids that love to drive those cars, my two included. While I don't think it's worth the wait, most little ones would spend the whole day in line for this one. As for the mid-90's re-dress, I'd choose to finish the job. They never quite completed the area between AE and Cosmic Rays. Then keep Timekeeper and CoP open and then add some live music to the mix. TL used to have a real electric feel to it. Now it's just plain full of strollers. Oh yeah, let's do something with the old skyway terminal. I hate seeing static looking buildings.

Ok, maybe I'm speaking from a Disneyland perspective, but the Speedway is still fun. Although it is a lot more boring than Autopia. They should redesign it like they did for Autopia. Just a thought. Even though Autopia has nothing to do with TL.

Change the theming to Jetsons-y or Blade Runner-y. For the Blade Runner look, just make it always night and rainy (I'm sure Disney could find a way). Add the Geisha Blimp(tm) and those umbrella-lights and a few Spinners and you'll be set.

I'd just like to say, now that we're talking about the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, I think it might be better if they add FASTPASS. I've gone to Magic Kingdom once every year for about 8 years now and I've NEVER been on the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway because of the LOOOOOOOOOOOONG lines.

Add a FP to the Speedway but first close the ride down and redo the track and new cars and maybe make a new name this can be a 05 or 06 thing then reopen with FP!!!

Lastly maybe in the years to come but not now reovate SM and give it the same factor like Disneyland Paris, even thow i dont like it but it will be cool for my bro to ride and then when that is going on maybe add TTA inside the stitch thing and maybe the inside of SM with more seens. Anyhow this is what i think needs fixing!!!

There is already a clone of Paris Space Mountain in WDW, except it's called Rock'n'Roller coaster and is a better ride.

Mind you, it's not stopped them from putting Rock'n'Roller at the Paris park.

I still prefer the Florida mountain.

Let's all keep in mind that while some of these ideas are great, how long will it be before those "new" attractions would be considered outdated, boring, and a waste of space? It seems to me that if we were to poll the vast majority of those responding to this thread, that the overwhelming majority would fall in that precious 18-25 demographic.

Again, I would say that The Magic Kingdom is and always has been a park of great traditions, built on the premise of the visions and dreams of Walt Disney. While we're at it, why don't we totally rehad all of main street. I mean, those buildings are "old school" style buildings. They really need to be gutted and rebuilt to look more modern.

I would agree that there might be a need to make some changes here and there to enhance the experience in Tomorrowland. But removing entire attractions to add more "thrill rides?". Walt Disney, I do not believe, was a follower. In other words, why try to be like everyone else? Building a bigger, faster coaster? Or a scarier attraction? I don't think so. The Magic Kingdom is a family park. And not that I wish to see attendance decline, but if that's not your cup of tea, well there's always universal. And the bread and butter of The Company is its' ability to cross merchandise/brand its movie productions with the experience of
seeing those movies come to life. An example would be the play I saw a few nights ago. The Wizard of Oz. After having watched the movie for 20 odd years now, it was a blast to see it come to life before my very eyes. We're all geared too much by gore/thrill tv these days. Everyone wants bigger, faster, scarier, and for what? Yes, there should be some rehab done, and I've read some really good ideas here, but stick with what works. You need to look no further than their own Disney Stores, to see that going back to what brought them there in the first place is what still works today with respect to sales. And it will be the same with the parks.

Nothing beats the atmosphere in Tomorrowland after dark! Too bad it doesn't look quite as good in the light of day ( oh, well, I guess the same can be said of me... )

Ummmmm..
A clone?

Not even close. Merely another Vekoma coaster with inversions. No other similarities at all.

A clone is an exact (or close) copy of an existing attraction.

It really irks me when people say if you want thrill rides go to Universal!! I don't think people are looking for a Universal here, they are just looking for change. You don't need thrill rides whenever a change is suggested but you need CHANGE!!!! Can't you see that if you kept the same things all the time, you would lose people! What would keep bringing you down to Disney? You could say the "magic" but lets face it if you are still going down to the same rides that were here in 1971 would you keep coming? You can tell by the boards about how excited people get when they are coming down to experinece new projects. Whether it be a new hotel, new attraction, new restaurant, etc. I love going to Disney but if I did the same thing year in and year out, I can't say as I would keep coming if the same things werethere from 1971. Yes there is definitley something about the place that keeps you coming but times change, people change, kids have changed so you HAVE to change along with it. To say something like maybe they should take down Main Street is ridiculous. Nobody has a qualm with anything like that but you can't honestly think that you could keep everything the way it was from day one. Lets be honest here. We would all like to keep nostalgia, heck there are plenty of things I loved that were taken down but you really have to go along with the times, Even Walt would have to.
