What kind of cards are these?

We have an upcoming trip to Disney World in about a month and last weekend I received an envelope in the mail from Disney Travel Company. In it there was a voucher book for discount coupons for stuff like miniature golf, sea raycers, arcade games, etc. Also included was an envelope with two hard-surface cards and two lanyards. These didn't come with any instructions and I wanted to ask if anyone knew the purpose for these things. I've included a picture of them here:

They are the luggage tags. A note of caution if you intend to use them, one of ours broke right in half on one of our trips and we had to improvise on the way home!

First enter your name/address/and or phone number on the luggage tag.

Poke one end of the plastic 'lanyard' through the hole in the top of the luggage tag and loop it back through so it is now attached.

Then put the other end through something on your luggage and loop it back through. You may have to squeeze the tag to get it through the opening while doing this.

Have a good trip.

The backs of the cards are white; there's no magnetic stripe or anything to indicate this card can be used as an "access" card or something similiar. At first I thought they were luggage tags too but then a couple of days I received something else in the mail from Disney Magical Express service which included yellow luggage tags (with actual instructions on how to place them around the luggage handles) and other information about airport to resort transportation. I guess I'm supposed to use both the hard-surface cards and the yellow luggage tags together?

The yellow sticky tags, which probably have your resort's name written on them, are for Magical Express.
You will want to put these on the luggage that you want dellivered to your room by the Magical Express service.

The others are ordinary luggage tags. You don't have to use them.

The luggage tags are souvenirs for you to keep forever and use as you would like. You don't have to have them attached to use Magical Express.

We love Disney luggage tags. We have them on every piece of luggage we own. Even when we're not going to Disney it makes me happy to see them.:)

The yellow tags are for Magical Express and must be on your bags for DME to pick up your luggage. They should be removed the next time you fly.

Thanks for the clarification! Now why couldn't Disney just copy what you typed and include this with the cards they send out? People like me who need instructions with everything wouldn't get confused :)

Why does everybody think they're luggage tags?

They're actually rectangular ninja weapons, designed for use on Universal Studio's guests at the airport. :zipit:

It's funny that this topic should be posted because my mil just called yesterday asking what they were too. She thought they were her ME tags for her luggage, I actually didn't know becasue we have never ridden the ME but I called and a CM told me what they were and that my mil would probably be getting her ME tags in a few days. I got mine in the mail today, they are a nice little keepsake:)

As others have said, the plastic tags are optional souvinier/decorative luggage tags. You can insert a business card in them, but if you look through the accompanying booklet of vouchers/coupons, etc there's a page with lined inserts to cut out and use in the plastic tags if you wanted. They're toward the back of the booklet.
