Don't need to tell me about it. People yelling about silly things is bad enough, but as silly as that?

*shudder*

People in general are just rude and totally psycho. They think they're in charge of everything and everyone.
They need to wake up and smell the coffee and just get lives.

i agree with everyone who said the kids need to be in control, its pretty darn annoying when they get unruly, whiney etc...

Sadly enough, parents don't bother to consider that it's NOT gonna be their dream vacation, and they're gonna actually ahve to do a little bit or work looking after them.

If you get mad because people ask you to watch your kids, you're just plain ol' nuts. Sadly, a bunch of people do get mad :(

up and down the hall making all kinds of noise and the parets
didn't stop them. It was 12:00am you think they would be
in bed.:(

It wouldn't surprise me at ALL if the parents were down at one of the parks having a good time while the kids were left in charge of a realtive or a older "mature" sibling.

Thank you.

sorry. I'm kinda new to the boards and don't know all of the "unwritten rules", so to speak. Like frequency for bumping.

It's okay.

We generally don't bump things around here... things move at a nice enough pace that things keep going that should keep going, and other things just fade away because it's thier time.

You might have seen a lot of bumping the other day... that however was for a different purpose, to hide some "unwanted" posts...

Wow BenS you have an awful lot of posts seeing as how you just registered in the past few days! It took me forever to get that many. I hope they're not all from bumps. :(

Any how, lets get this thread back on topic!

I'll tell you what is hilarious, is watching tourist try to park @ WDW. Why can't people follow instructions ? Or at least exhibit a little common sense. I can't help but laugh when I see a cast member scream half way across the lot to an idiot that his car will be towed away if he doesn't move it. I then the reaction from the fool as everyone glares at him.

Here is a question for you CM's when Disney tows cars where do they go ?

I am so with you on those points. It drives me absolutely bonkers when parents don't dicipline their kids when they are misbehaving. I can't tell you how many times a CM had to tell kids not to sit on the railings and their parents didn't even care or tell them to get down, how rude! And then people complain that the part is falling apart. Well if people would respect it, it wouldn't be!

My fiance and I were eating breakfast at Tony's Restaurant on Main Street and there was this family sitting right next to us in a booth and their kids were putting stickers, stickers!, on the walls of the restaurant and the parents saw them and didn't even care! I'm sorry but that's defacing property! I told the waitress, who told the manager, because I was so ed.

Respect your surroundings!!!! And parents, raise your kids to as well!

Irritations

I do agree with everyone that there are some parents that need to learn to control their children.

However, two other things that are extremely annoying are:

1. I understand the need for strollers and I have no problem with them as a whole. BUT if you are a large group with several strollers, do all the strollers need to be next to each other when the group is wandering the park??? Come on, there are some people who may want to walk a bit faster and it is very irritating when the majority of the walkway is blocked by 3+ strollers next to each other.

2. If your group needs to stop to regroup, can it be done to the side of the walkway? Why does it seem everyone has to stop in the middle of the road?

What used to make me so angry from the CM point of view is when parents tried to control their children too much! There were so many times when a child would pick up a toy in my store to see it and the parent would flip out, scream at the child, make the child cry, cause a scene...etc. I know they're probably all tired and hot and everything, but if they had relaxed and been a little more tolerant, they'd enjoy themselves so much more.

The most ridiculous thing that I encountered with guests would be when I would ask them how their day was and they would respond, "its hot and the lines are long" as if this was some great revelation. Summer in Disney World, what did they expect?

Reality Check

Now that this discussion is up to 8 pages, I would like to reinforce that all these stories are not the norm. Guests at WDW are not stupid, mean or disobediant.

As a CM at the studios I can see easily 10,000 people a day pass by me. On any one day as a crowd control host for our parade and Fantasmic, I would only encounter one or two really difficult guest situations. 90% of the time our guests are having a great time and following the rules. 9.5% of the time our guests can put their own safety aside in the pursuit of seamingly trivial things and comply quicky when this is pointed out too them.

The thing is, our CMs are so positive and our park enviornment so manicured, that the negative aspects of any large grouping of people really stand out.

If you encounter a situation in our parks, PLEASE walk away and tell CM, do not take on other guests yourself. Also it does not help to give the offending person any more attention than needed.

Enjoy your day, and I hope to see you all soon.
