What is the most Disney Feeling Resort?

Hey all... just returned from a trip and now starting to look into planning something else. This last trip was my very first time on property. I must say... I was disappointed with the Beach Club.

1.) very well themed
2.) convenient location
3.) amazing pool

All great things.... but, to me and this is my opinion the resort lacked the Disney feel. People here have mentioned you always feel like your are surrounded by the Magic but I just didn't get that. I felt like I was back home in New England. Expensive rooms, high brow guests.... I just didn't enjoy it.

What is a hotel that just has that amazing Disney feel...

Thanks for weighing in!

Yes... I wanted to be in the world of Disney 24/7... with reminders of all the movies and characters and music and everything there around me. BC... eh, its ok. I mean it has a great location but for 350 a night... I wasn't THAT impressed.

I am... just am not looking forward to the cinderblock walls and such. I mean, Im not looking for ultra lux but its a little crappy from what I have heard.

The double beds are a problem for my DH, but the POP Century looks like a decent place to rest your head if you are going to be in the parks all day.

Pop Century is quite nice if you plan on spending all your waking hours in the parks. We were there last month and we had no trouble with noise or any other discomforts. Not crappy at all. That said, its decor is more pop culture than Disney-esque. For Disney-esque you'd want to stick with All Star Movies. But I hear what you're saying about wishing there was a moderate resort with that Disney-esque theming.

values....

I understand what your saying....our first visit was just about a year ago ( i miss it !!) we stayed at all star movies and it was excellent....im not used to higher classed hotels so the other resorts, although really nice, with my family of four we would not be able to afford that. So the values are perfect, for us anyway. The ASM was clean, fun and laid back with great details everywhere! for our next trip (april 2012) were going with pop century, which has great reviews and looks like a blast! we have two kids ( 4 and 3 months old) which means they will be 5 and a year and a half at the time we go....maybe when they are in their teens well try carribbean or coronado...
have a good day everyone...

I felt the same way about the Beach Club, and it very well may be because of the fact that we're New Englanders.

Wilderness Lodge blew me away last year.

I totally love Pop Century, though. You're going to hear bad stories about every hotel, so take any reviews with a grain of salt.
Are the rooms and beds smaller? Yes. I don't care, though, as I don't spend a lot of time at the resort.
Do you get a sit-down restaurant? No. The food court is pretty darn good, though, especially compared to any of the deluxes. And the theme is definitely "Disney."

The values are also fantastic for photography.

I like the contemporary for a disney feel, I was able to get a room with a view of the castle, so when I went to sleep and woke up I saw the castle, and then went downstairs for breakfast with Mickey and the gang.

Cinder block walls? It's a hotel, not prison. The amenities aren't on the level of the Beach Club, but it surely isn't like staying at the $39 a night econo lodge down the road either. The values are nice for what they offer...cheaper rooms with not many frills. The pools are basic, you don't get a sit down restaurant, and you don't get the comfortable bedding like you do at the deluxe resorts. There also won't be anyone standing at the doors handing you a towel when you walk in from the rain. I've stayed at Pop many times and the All Stars once as well...I prefer a deluxe hotel but have never had a problem at any of the values.

completely agree with this! And I can see you're point about the Beach Club as well. Never stayed there but went for a walk around and definitely has that New England feel.

But I LOOOOVE Pop Century..always feels like "home" to me in WDW. I just know I'm at Disney :D

It's funny, because when I read the title of this thread, my initial reaction was to say either the Contemporary/BLT, Poly, or GF - I think that many people associate these resorts with Disney first and foremost, as they surround the MK and were the "originals" (not BLT). But it was interesting to me to see your interpretation of what you felt would have more Disney "magic" - such as the icons at the Value resorts.

For my family, staying in the middle of the magic is staying at our "home" at BLT - we love to wake up to the castle and sounds of the MK each morning; we love being able to walk to the MK; we love popping over to the Contemporary to see the monorail coming through. We've stayed at every level resort, but this is definitely what does it for us.

Just really shows how Disney has done a good job at offering different resorts so that each guest can find their own part of the magic!

I would also have to agree, this is subjective... and to each there own. Out of all the resorts I've stayed at, I've always felt "Disney". Now, in recent years, as I've been staying at the GF more and more, to me, this is the most disney feeling; filled with fantasy and magic.

Yes... that is essentially what I mean. I think its crazy that there is only a single resort with such a theme and its a value. Nothing against value resorts (especially since Ive never stayed in one) but I have heard the horror stories. There has to be a market for at least a moderate whose central theme is more Disney-esque.

Nearly all horror stories about the values are about the All Stars, stay at the Pop and you will have a wonderful and in my eyes, very Disney experience, with the Lady and the Tramp, Mickey Mouse, Baloo and Mowgli etc. as house-sized figures.
