What is the "major announcement" Uni is making on Thursday?

I'm loving these almost bi-annual announcement. Maybe I'm being spoiled, but this is so much fun at the moment. To think that in just a few short months we'll be hearing more of Jurassic Park, maybe Kong and not to mention tidbits about Diagon Alley. I'm not a big fan of the shopping districts at either resort so can't say I'm all riled up to head down to City Walk but it just feels so fresh that they're constantly announcing projects and opening them in record time. I seriously have issues with anyone who managed to complain about yet another positive announcement for projects to come for Universal Orlando.

While not Malls, there are 3 Earl of Sandwiches in the Florida Turnpike Rest Areas.

http://www.floridasturnpike.com/tools_serviceplazas.cfm

There is a Rainforest Cafe in an Outlet Mall called Opry Mills in Nashville.

http://www.simon.com/mall/opry-mills

There are Wetzel Pretzels in 175 malls across the country.

And there is a Ghirardelli Store in the outlet mall is Wisconsin.

So while not as high brow as full blown regular malls, I found outlet malls and interstate rest stops.

Your point is?

Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise Fl has a rain forest cafe, Wellington Mall in Wellington, Fl has an Earl of sandwich...Wetzel's are in a lot of malls

Local mall with a Rainforest Cafe:

Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ... yes, local mall to me...

Ghirardelli is is many outlet malls:

Outlet Shops
Atlanta, GANEW! The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta
Lathrop, CAChocolate Outlet & Ice Cream Shop
Livermore, CALivermore Premium Outlets
Milpitas, CAGreat Mall
Ontario, CAOntario Mills
Pleasant Prairie, WIPleasant Prairie Premium Outlets
San Leandro, CAGhirardelli Corporate Headquarters & Factory Outlet

Wetzel Pretzel located in several malls in NJ: Freehold Raceway Mall, Garden State Plaza (two locations actually), and Willowbrook Mall... Not to mention, DH stated 175 malls around the country...

Please, make sure you know what you are talking about before trying to make an argument... Cause you just failed in trying to make your case, but helped us who are saying DTD is nothing but a mall...
There are two Rainforest Cafe's in Illinois Malls. One at the state line near Wisconsin, cattycorner from Six Flags in the Gurnee Mills Mall and one in Schaumburg IL at the mega mall, WoodField.

Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shoppe and Candy Store in DownTown Chicago is amazing and frankly far nicer than the one at DTD.

Great. Now I'm going to have to go to Ghirardelli's and get my fix soon and it is freezing here. lol

Thank you all for helping prove my point. :) Now, Jimmy Thick... tell us more about how CityWalk is like your local mall and DTD isn't.

The clue is in the use of the word Italian. Not food by someone who thinks because they once had a Peroni it gives them access to a passport.

Being Irish, nothing drove that point better than my first trip to ViaNapoli. I was real skeptical to be honest about their pizza pie given the hype, cost and uneven distribution of ingredients, I was curious but went in with an attitude.

I went on a knee jerk, spontaneous quick trip, nabbed an afternoon ADR while down to visit DS, CM who hadn't gone for my same reasons. Thinking I was nutty to pull this ADR for a short trip we were both in awe of how different the Italian pizza pie was from our favorite american versions. It was awesome.

Most memorable meal of that trip.

"Italian" doesn't usually refer to authentic Italian food in the US, if that's what you were looking for. We have our own brand of Italian food. It isn't meant to be authentic, but most Americans probably don't know any different. Same goes for most other ethnic cuisines.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
I'll tell you the best Italian Food I've had in the US is here

Il Pastaio

I shall bare this in mind for a future visit.

But should a good (authentic choice of toppings) woodfired stone bake pizza be that hard to find in some of the USs biggest cities? Having tried Carmines I thought at least we were getting closer to acceptable pasta dishes though the family style servings werent really what we wanted

You gotta check out the pasta at the place I mentioned I had the pappardelle with a venison and porcini ragu it was excellent like the rustic style of Italian cuisine that I enjoy the most.

I have been told they have had decent pizza in New York in the village area. However I've never found better than what I can get here in the UK, or Italy, I literally have 15min from me an Italian Family Restaurant that imports like the best pepperoni and makes the best dough.

This isn't bad, especially when DTD is making it nearly impossible to get to their ... Ridiculously lame offerings.

City Walk was already great in my eyes due to The Lone Palm alone! The best Rum Runners in Orlando! This will only add to the fun.

Wowww....just WOWW>>>AWESOME!!!

All that is so amazing, one wonders what Universal could do next with the Potter franchise...

Oh HO, I just thought of one...how about a great dark ride built around Azkaban prison? That could be the most intense, scary, amusement-park spookhouse EVER.
