What is the best stateroom to get for 6 on Disney Magic

I am trying to plan our first Disney Cruise which leaves out of Galveston. I am the only one who has been on a cruise before in the group and the only way everyone else was going to go on a cruise was if it was a Disney Cruise. I tried booking online but we would need two staterooms but I was wanting one stateroom. Do I need to call my travel agent or Disney Reservations to book a large room? I probably just answered my own question but any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Has to be 2 rooms, no room will take 6 people!

If I am not mistaken the Magic will be the ship sailing out of Galveston and the only rooms that will sleep six are Royal and 2 bed room suites. All of the other rooms max out at 4-5 occupancy. As you might have guessed suites are very expensive (prices in excess of $10k are quite common) and can not be booked online for parties greater than 5.

What you could do is book 5 guests in 1 large stateroom, and the 6th guest in a "dummy" room (i.e. the cheapest one you can find). All 6 of you can still sleep in the "5 person" room if you think you can make it work (like two toddlers can easily share a bed for example).
A five person room is going to have a queen bed, a pull out couch, and a pull down upper berth (basically a hide-a-way bunk bed). So I don't know your party but if you think that will work for you, this is your best option.

If its a group of 6 adults? Either pay a HUGE amount for a suite, or get connecting rooms. Not sure what kind of rooms your looking for either, but if its a verandah, connecting rooms also have connecting verandahs (the divider can be opened).

Good luck and happy cruising!

Even with all the tricks (spas, public restrooms), am I the only one here who thinks it is not advisable to try to cram 6 people into a 1 bathroom stateroom?

I would definitely suggest, for a multitude of reasons, finding a way to make 2 rooms work. Even if it is one stateroom with verandah and one of the least expensive rooms elsewhere on the Magic. You could work out a rotation schedule amongst the occupants.

I had 5 in my group last cruise and we fought for bathroom time all the time, with someone being ejected or choosing not to wait by finding a public bathroom elsewhere on the ship.

You will have fun on the Magic, particularly if you don't make the room so cramped.

The two bedrooms do have two bathrooms. 2.5 actually. :)

That's by no means your cheapest option. Two rooms will almost always beat it in price.

Thanks everyone for your comments/suggestions. I looked at the price of suites and they are very expensive and since they are located on the concierge level I would have to put down a non-refundable deposit. I think I am going to go with two connecting staterooms, either inside or verandah. I have to talk to my family to see which way they want to go. I know reservations have to be made quickly since they tend to book up quick and rates tend to go up.

It is a 6 day caribbean cruise out of Galveston. So glad Disney Cruise Line is going to add Galveston as a port later this year and next year! Easy drive there!

When you drive over are you going to drive in to Houston then down to Galveston or take the ferry over? Just curious. From where we currently live it's faster to take the ferry (unless it's a weekend in the summer when the wait can be hours long) but where we're moving to in west Houston that will change. Kinda sad. The ferry is fun. And free. :D

When I saw the ferry, I thought there was a fee so I was going to go through Houston. Now that you told me the ferry is free, we will go that way!!
