This is really hard, but I'll go with my current mood:

Splash Mountain - WDW
Superman - SFoG
Haunted Mansion - WDW
Déjà vu - SFoG (deceased)
Space Mountain - WDW

Leviathan does sound awfully amazing. I think it will be the 3rd or 4th tallest roller coaster in the world with an insane drop (think Millennium at Cedar Point).

As for Mystery Mine, I have never been to Dollywood but would love to check it out. I heard it's very nicely themed there

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Transformers: The Ride (opening next year Universal Studios Hollywood) is going to be the greatest attraction to date. Think of Spiderman at IOA on steroids...

Do they have a date as to when this will open? Sounds fun to me and yes, I know this is a Disney board but Universal does swing for the fences and succeeds, I can surely appreciate that. I plan on taking a trip to California next spring, will it be open by then?

I agree with everything you said except the thrill ride. I've never heard of King Da Ka. Everything else you said was right on the money. The Montu is great and mansion, splash and potter are easily the best for the categories you gave.

Kingda Ka is the fastest, and tallest rollercoaster in the world. If you have ridden Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point then this one is similar to it but better, so I am told. It is located at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey

Just asking for those that have done it, but how well would King Kong's 3D at Universal Hollywood rank? It seems to be an immersive experience from what the ads show

If all stays on schedule Transformers: The Ride should be opening in the Spring...giant AA's, explosions and 3-D. Looks amazing especially if you enjoy the movies.

Living within an hour of Cedar Point, I love roller Coasters. Bring them on big and fast.

Best all over attraction: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
Best Coaster: X2 (Six Flags Magic Mountain, ride is just ridiculous. Seats flip independently) http://youtu.be/T8quNLC0Wmo
Best Water Ride: Splash Mountain (End up humming the song all day long)
Best Thrill: Tower of Terror (Why, oh why, do I keep getting on it?)
Best Dark Ride: Haunted Mansion (Can't wait to see new Hitchhiking ghosts in 3 weeks)

The ride I want to ride next: TH13TEEN at Alton Towers, (c'mon a nice roller coaster with a vertical drop while the car is in a stopped horizontal position, is just, twisted)
Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zvmGM4GjWE The neatest action takes place at 0:55 with the lights on so you can see it. Normally, the ride drops in the dark.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

I deem this my number one by judging the incredible artistry and the innovative engineering behind it. On top of this, it submerses you well into the story. I think those are the most important factors to judge. Disney is still king. They invented the art, but I truly think Forbidden Journey raised the bar.

The American Adventure is my number two. It was built in 82 and it still is an impressive piece of technology.

I also think a factor for being the "greatest" is being able to inspire you or leave you breathless. These two attractions do just that.

HPatFJ is almost the same ride as sum of all thrills,
You're joking, right?... Forbidden Journey isn't a casule and a TV screen. It's a themed open-aired flyer, the Kuka is moving on a track, in and out of dark ride sets with animatronics and large screen projections. How is that almost the same ride? It's immense.

Kuka + Screen. Two main parts. Yes, there are animations and tidbits but it doesn't make it all great and powerful as what some people say it is..

What about Soarin', Star Tours II, or MuppetVision?

Did I mention any of those? They're all good, just not favorites along with FJ.

The best ride in the world that I've had the pleasure of riding is absolutely Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea.

It's just the perfect hybrid of dark ride and thrill ride, an awe-inspiring experience that starts as soon as you approach the mountain and just never lets up until the final brakes.

Best ride, queue and overall experience...

Tie.
Forbidden Journey and Temple of the Forbidden Eye.

Yep. I still think Indy might be the one ride that could hold its own against Forbidden Journey. Although it lacks Kuka and flying, it still has grander show scenes, a more physically-built set, and its own innovative ride system.

I wouldn't rank it on any ride list, because it's a sorta one-scene kinda experience. The experience itself is terrific, and completely immerses you in the Kong vs. Dino battle, and it really is an awesome addition to the tram tour. However, innovative as it may be, it just doesn't classify as a ride, at least not in my book. Still, it's not to be missed if you happen to be at USH! It really did blow me away.

I love that with lots of people talking about other parks, (almost) no one is bashing those parks, this might be a first for this site!!!

There are so many different categories it's almost impossible to pick an overall favorite/best. But I think I would go with Haunted Mansion. Followed extremely close by Harry Potter. Universal has some awesome rides; Mummy, Spiderman, MIB, but they all just lack that special Disney theming touch.

ToT and Splash are probably numbers 3 and 4 on my list.

My top 3 "rides" are

3... Splash Mountain @ WDW because it holds such great memories of riding virtually the whole ride with me and my DW in floods of laughter aven though we couldnt figure out what had started it.

2..... Thunder mountain @ Disneyland Paris. It saved a dissapointing trip and is so much better a ride than Florida's

1.... the Virgin Atlantic plane that takes me to florida!!! :D:D:D

Many great ones named so far :)

At this point I would say both Steel Eel at Sea World San Antonio and Ripsaw Falls at Universal. Not the most advanced rides but the most fun I have had with my kids so far was on these rides. BTR at MK is also a great one :)
